Old MacDonald had a Farm v4.01
Family Play ltdAbout this app
Old MacDonald had a Farm solves the problem of providing an engaging and educational experience for young children, benefiting parents and educators seeking to entertain and teach simultaneously. This app stands out in the Game Educational category due to its excellent user rating of 4.7/5 and moderate download numbers, indicating a strong reputation among users. Compared to alternatives, its simplicity and focus on a single, well-executed concept make it a compelling choice. However, its limited scope might cause it to fall short for users seeking a more comprehensive educational experience.
Pros
- With over 100,000 downloads and an excellent user rating of 4.7/5, Old MacDonald had a Farm boasts strong social proof, indicating a well-liked and effective educational app.
- The app's developer, Family Play ltd, provides a clear website and email for support, enhancing trust and accessibility for users who may need assistance.
- Given its small size and lack of required permissions, this app is a good choice for devices with limited storage or for parents concerned about privacy and data collection.
- The combination of being free to download with optional in-app purchases makes the app accessible to a wide range of users, allowing them to try before they buy additional content.
- The app's offline capability, inferred from its lack of internet permission requirements, means that children can play and learn even without an internet connection.
Cons
- The presence of ads in a children's educational app may be seen as a drawback by some parents, who might prefer an ad-free experience to avoid distractions or inappropriate content.
- While the in-app purchases are relatively inexpensive at $0.99 per item, the cumulative cost can add up, potentially making the app more expensive than initially anticipated for those who opt for additional content.
- Some users might find the app's content too limited or repetitive, especially if their children quickly grasp the concepts presented and are ready for more challenging material.
- The lack of detailed information about the educational framework or learning objectives behind the app might make it difficult for some parents or educators to assess its educational value fully.
Best for: The ideal user for Old MacDonald had a Farm is a young child, likely in the preschool to early elementary school age range, who is beginning to develop their cognitive skills and can benefit from interactive, educational content that is both fun and easy to understand, with the app being particularly suitable for parents or educators seeking a simple, yet effective, learning tool.

OK, my baby cousin wont stay still she so loud and shes so violent! This made her be an amazing baby! Thank you whoever made the game
Great aplication for my 3years old nephew
I downloaded this for my 2.5 year old. He likes to touch the icons but there isnt a way for him to know what the coreect answer is cuz he cant read... hes 2. "Where is the cow?" should be said allowed so he actually knows what to look for.
There should be more options to choose from in the main part of the app, and of would be nice if they were grouped or given out randomly. Jumping from a turnip to a dog does nothing for connecting the words to the type of object. Also, one major issue is the test. Unless you touch the correct picture every time, for every touch of the screen another layer of images is placed over the next set of the test. Again, not very good for the toddlers this app is designed for. Its a sound app, but needs polishing.
