Heart Rate Variability Logger v1.1.4
A.S.M.A. B.V.About this app
Developer Description
The research grade HRV app (requires a Bluetooth sensor!)
Heart Rate Variability Logger requires a Bluetooth Low Energy (also called Bluetooth Smart or BLE or 4.0) heart rate sensor (we recommend Polar H7 or H10)
Main features:
- Extracts, plots, stores and exports heart rate, rr-intervals, time and frequency domain heart rate variability features (AVNN, SDNN, rMSSD, pNN50, LF, HF, LF/HF, alpha 1 from DFA)
- Configurable time window for features computation (choose between 30 seconds, 1, 2 or 5 minutes)
- RR-intervals correction can be enabled to prevent ectopic beats or artifacts from affecting HRV features
- Filters data based on the selected threshold
- Data export using email or Dropbox

Update 22Apr2021 - on longer runs (after update today) still only collects first few readings and stops. Otherwise works fine with the Garmin Pro strap alongside logging on the Garmin watch. Great app! Extremely useful for us older runners to gauge LT1 for MAF base building, where typical formulae fall off when trying to compute a target HR. Would like the Alpha1 overlaid on the HR trace, to facilitate understanding of target HR and pace in specific locations on known routes.
Bug report: after the latest update, the app takes about a minute to start (there's an empty screen for about a minute and then the UI appears).
Constantly loses connection to hrm when running in background. Polar bear with exact same settings on same phone don't do that. Also real time stamp ( in addition to time from.start of recording) would be good in charts/exports
Stopped working all of a sudden after 5-10 good recordings. Uninstalled and reinstalled too
Difficult to use. Not very helpful for training to target heart rate. Save your money. There's no way to get a refund.
