CEMC Outage Pal v1.2.7
dataVoiceAbout this app
The CEMC Outage Pal app solves the problem of members of the Carroll Electric Membership Corporation needing to stay informed about outages and manage their electricity services on the go. This app benefits most those who are members of this specific electric cooperative, providing them with a tailored experience. Compared to other business apps, CEMC Outage Pal stands out for its focus on a specific community, though its limited scope may also be a drawback for those seeking more comprehensive energy management tools. The app's simple, ad-free design is a notable advantage.
Pros
- The app's free model without in-app purchases or ads provides a clean and uninterrupted user experience, which is beneficial for users who want to access information without distractions.
- With no permissions required, the app ensures a high level of privacy and security for its users, which is a significant advantage over other apps that may request unnecessary permissions.
- The developer's reputation, as indicated by their professional website and support email, suggests a level of commitment to user support and app maintenance.
- The app's small size and compatibility with Android 6.0 and above make it accessible to a wide range of devices, including older models.
Cons
- The mixed user rating of 3.4/5 suggests that some users may have experienced issues or have unmet expectations, which could be due to the app's limited functionality or lack of features compared to more general energy management apps.
- The limited number of downloads and ratings may indicate a lack of social proof or a smaller user base, which could affect the app's visibility and the developer's ability to gather feedback and improve the app.
- The app's specific focus on Carroll EMC members might limit its appeal and usability for those outside this group, making it less versatile than other business or utility apps.
Best for: The ideal user for the CEMC Outage Pal app is a member of the Carroll Electric Membership Corporation, likely residing in the service area, who values convenience, simplicity, and privacy in managing their electricity services and staying informed about outages, and has a basic level of technical skill to navigate the app's features.

Great people and great work
This app used to work. I had to restart my phone between usages, but it worked. Now all I have is a blank white screen. I am very disappointed that this app is FUBAR.
Works but outage map icons load then go away and load again nonstop until the app crashes.
Keeps telling me connection with the server was lost or timed out. Can't add my account or report the outage. Can't get anything from their website either. I miss having Greystone Power.
