So far, it's basically been a book with automated tests. It's been useful; but, I dont feel the mandatory tests are necessary: like taking lengthy number learning tests from 0-1000 5-6x in a row. German numbering is so easy, I think 1-2 tests would've sufficed. I DONT WANT TO SEE NUMBERS FOR A LONG TIME NOW! Noun/verb conjugation and genders could use 5-6 tests, but instead, I simply pass by reading the chapter?! Not the best start, hopefully For Dummies gets better.
