This guide is aimed at health personnel who want to supplement the knowledge related to the administration of medicines by parenteral route. It has been written with a practical orientation with the purpose that it is of special utility for the nursing staff that develops its activity in the hospitalization units.

The information has been compiled and reviewed by pharmacists from the Son Espases University Hospital of Palma de Mallorca (Spain), who since 1995 have published several printed and electronic editions.

Regarding version 1.0 of this application, the present version includes as main novelties information on the compatibility with parenteral nutrition and recommendations for the protection of health personnel to take into account in the preparation and administration of dangerous medicines.

You can access the file of each medicine from an alphabetical index, searching for both active ingredient and commercial name. In addition, it allows you to configure a list of favorite drugs to facilitate access to the files of most interest for each health professional.

Each card follows the following basic scheme:

- Presentations: commercial name, presentations and dosage.
- Reconstitution: specific instructions for preparation.
- Conservation / Stability: instructions for conservation.
- Administration: admitted routes of administration, specific instructions for each route, compatible solutions, compatibility with parenteral nutrition, protection of health personnel, observations.
- References: specific sources from which the information has been obtained.
- Link to the drug's technical data sheet: for more information on important aspects such as clinical indications, recommended dosage and precautions.
- Notes page: the user can take his notes for each file.

The most important sources of information for the drafting of this guide have been the technical reports of the manufacturing laboratories and the bibliography and specialized documentation. In certain cases, the knowledge based on professional experience and the usual forms of administration in our hospital have been applied.

We believe that the incorporation of the information contained in this app in daily clinical practice facilitates the administration of medications with the best quality and safety standards.
