INKBIRD v2.0.16
INKBIRDAbout this app
The INKBIRD app aims to simplify the process of creating a smart home by integrating various devices, making it an attractive solution for homeowners looking to automate their living spaces. Given its moderate download numbers and mixed user rating, it falls short in terms of widespread adoption compared to other tools in its category, such as SmartThings or Google Home. However, its focus on a specific niche might make it stand out for those deeply invested in the INKBIRD ecosystem. The app's ability to create a seamless smart home experience will be its key selling point, but it needs to address user concerns to improve its overall rating.
Pros
- With over 500,000 downloads, INKBIRD has shown moderate success, indicating a sizable user base that finds the app useful for their smart home needs.
- The absence of ads and in-app purchases enhances the user experience, suggesting that the developer prioritizes functionality over monetization, which is a significant advantage for users.
- The app requires no permissions, which is a rare and commendable approach, especially for a smart home app, as it alleviates significant privacy and security concerns.
- The developer's website and support email provide clear channels for feedback and support, which is crucial for an app that aims to integrate and control various smart devices.
- INKBIRD's focus on creating a smart home ecosystem could make it an excellent choice for those already invested in INKBIRD devices, offering a streamlined and integrated experience.
Cons
- The mixed user rating of 3.5/5 suggests that while some users find the app useful, others have significant concerns or issues, which the developer needs to address to improve user satisfaction.
- The lack of detailed information about the app's functionality and device compatibility on the Play Store might deter potential users who prefer to know exactly what they are getting before downloading.
- Without a clear understanding of how the app collects and uses data (despite requiring no permissions), some users might be wary of privacy implications, especially in a smart home context where data sensitivity is high.
- The app's relatively low rating compared to other smart home solutions might indicate that it lacks features or polish that competitors offer, making it less appealing to users looking for a comprehensive smart home experience.
Best for: The ideal user for the INKBIRD app is a tech-savvy homeowner or individual who has already invested in INKBIRD smart devices and is looking for a centralized, user-friendly interface to manage and automate their smart home setup, with a moderate level of technical skill to fully utilize the app's features and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Great product!! Works really well on a Komado Joe Classic.
it works well so far I haven't had any issues with the thermostat itself. but the app needs polishing .
I love the hardware, however I wish very much that it included a time program to adjust temperature and that INKBIRD would have a pc application or website access. I have no idea how that isn't already being implemented. Having those two options would be the completion of the interface in my opinion. The hardware and the existing interface is very useful but limited in what it can do and how to control it. I sincerely hope the management sees my review though I doubt they will and step up.
works great, unless you want it linked to Google home 😡
NO NOTIFICATIONS Absolutely a trash app. Do not buy this if you want an app to notify you if your meat is done or flame goes out. No notifications still! No passive alerts when smoker goes out and meat gets cold! I have videos of sensor limit beeping but phone has nothing, even when you open app. So what is the point of an app then if the two main things I would do are Broken. Been like this for years and 7/25 now. They don't bother to fix it. 12/25 another failure
