If you’ve kept a logbook with another app or website in the past, you can easily upload it into KAYA through your profile page.

KAYA is community-focused. You’ll be notified when your buddy breaks into a new grade so you can leave ‘em a fist-bump and a comment. In-app messenger allows you to connect with other climbers, and, if your gym is on KAYA, receive new set notifications when the routesetting team finishes slinging the freshies.

Generally an ok app however it doesn't seem to be compatible with non apple phones. Posting videos feels impossible and they fail to upload 99.9% of the time. I appreciate its utility in the gym and climbing outside. edit: issue was resolved and Marc was a great help!

Update: 12-7-23 Credit where credit is due, a lot of my nits were addressed and the app is in a much better place. OLD REVIEW: One of the least usable apps I've ever encountered. Specific gripes: - Incredibly unresponsive menuing - Sideways swipes have less priority that vertical scrolling, so performing any sideways actions is very difficult - Changing screens is very slow, and doesn't ever improve - Gym maps are slow, icons on the map overlap and often do not respond to touch

I subscribed to the original version to be able to use the guidebook feature, as my local crag has a shortage of physical guidebook copies. As much as I like the added filtering features (climb style, wingspan, height, character, etc.) I find the main useful aspect of a guide missing - the ability to easily see climbs that are close together and compare multiple climbs. The app is just clunky relative to having 9-15 climbs summarized on two pages with topos all visible simultaneously.

Really slow and buggy. Can't even upload videos after ticking at the crag, and have them link. Which to me, is the biggest + about Kaya. So why does the feature not work? Kaya could be so much but in the end it's just laggy and buggy, so I'm loathe to pay. Too much focus on UI/UX and not enough on performance. I will always opt for the quicker app (Mountain Project).

The interface is nearly unusable. Every single action takes several seconds to execute, and about half the time it doesn't actually do what you're asking for. In the gym map view, I'm constantly getting snapped into and out of random areas or the detail view of a random route. I can't believe this app advertises itself as a flagship product, and the developers have the gall to demand paid subscriptions. It has THE worst performance of any app I have ever downloaded.
