Even in the free version, excellent app. Teaches hiragana and katakana as well as a decent amount of kanji, and it allows you to see how you truly write (rather than force your line into the font, as many other apps do). One star less because it seems quitw resource intensive - my phone frequently heats up quite significantly while using it. No other major issues! /Edit: Picking it up again a couple of years later, new phone, no heating, very enjoyable. Went pro license 2 weeks ago, and happy!
The writing experience is great. Feels pretty natural for a screen, although a stylus is a must to properly get a feel for the motions. Unfortunately, since a recent update, writing seems a bit off from where the stylus is on the screen. Also, while doing a writing exercise the app crashed completely. I still stand by the following, as it relates to a different bug. Developer response time is incredibly fast as well. I believe I saw a bug disappear within 24 hours of reporting it. 👏
Really nicely done. Stroke snapping is really bad though. Impedes learning when you think you've done the 'nu' symbol correctly and it dings you, not because you drew wrong, but because it detected wrong. Maybe that repetition is the point?
recently changed price, too expensive now
Tried to sign up with an email but it's impossible, the app thinks I'm trying to sign IN and tells me my account is not found, lol. There's literally no sign up function, maybe it works with Google or Facebook option but no way I'm giving this kind of permissions to the unknown app... EDIT: tired to sign up using their website but it wouldn't let me even to start the trial without entering my credit card data lol. All I want is to see the list of decks available, if that too much to ask?
