About Sheikh Al-Shaarai:
Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi (April 15, 1911 AD / Rabi’ al-Awwal 17, 1329 AH - June 17, 1998 AD / Safar 22, 1419 AH) was a religious scholar and former Egyptian Minister of Endowments. He is considered the most famous interpreter of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an in the twentieth century. He worked on interpreting the Holy Qur’an in simplified and colloquial ways, which made him able to reach a larger segment of Muslims throughout the Arab world. Some called him the Imam of Preachers, and he was also famous for his thoughts about the Holy Qur’an.
