Globe2Go Print Replica Edition users say on Google Play
App allows you to swipe through pages of reproduced paper and touch any headline to present an enlarged easy-to-read single column of print. Only problem I have encountered is that sometimes touching a headline dumps me out of the paper, but at least on relaunch I am brought back to where I left off.
I don't want to be cranky about this re-released app; I'll get used to the changes. However, the animated red boxes around the (already effectively highlight) headlines is definitely something that will always get on my nerves. Please get rid of them.
The Globe and Mail is a solid, professional paper, but its APP is erratic and loads only with difficulty. This can be frustating.
I am a paid subscriber, Samsung S10e (good phone). 2 or 3 headlines per issue crash the newspaper display, and return you to publications screen. After 2 weeks, it no longer updates issues. Uninstalled, reinstalled, emptied cache/data, several times without resolving. Other comments indicate these are old problems; G&M appears deaf. If no recognition of these problems is offered, I will cancel my subscription. I pay to get what I paid for; not to be ignored.
New version corrects some of the issues but creates new ones. All options should be under More/Options. For example "auto download" is under "See All" and edition selection is under "Edit". Not very intuitive! Now it loses editions. According to the phone notifications the "lost" edition is being downloaded. Only way of viewing is to add it again. When will they create a stable, fully functional, intuitive app? In the past I've emailed the app support a copy of my review with no response.
