I like the material, opinions etc, best newspaper, worth to subscribe. But I find ridiculous the amount of ads showing on it as a subscriber of the newspaper. Good thing we can use nextdns and similar programs to block and improve the experience. Edit ; 2024 and still a bunch of ads

content are well written, need a widget for news. cbc have one, Reuters have one, ap and ft both have those. edit: offline function will be nice as well. (Which is also seen from other new apps like ft and reuters)

Rating increased to reflect resolution of this issue finally. Facing issues with the app for the last 3-4 months. Reached out to the technical support for resolution and their response is "we acknowledge the issue, but we have no app updates scheduled in the next few months to resolve the issue." I followed up a month later and still the same response. Really disappointed, especially for a paid app.

The news articles aren't too bad and refresh fairly frequently. The app itself isn't too bad at all. The problem is, if you subscribe they will raise your subscription rates without notification, automatically bill you for your next cycle, and even if you call immediately they will not refund your money.

Abysmal support. Can log in on a laptop but never mobile. Sometimes it looks like it will connect but it isn't. They have something going on with releasing active accounts which I suspect is the problem - if you are logged in elsewhere they do not kill that login and restart with the new device. I get why single login makes sense, but you have to set it up right! Months of being locked out of mobile. Frustrating, and I am writing this after another purge and cache clear and app reinstall.
