The New Yorker users say on Google Play
A Rich Reading Experience for Curious Minds The New Yorker app brings the magazine, commentary, fiction, and cartoons right to my fingertips. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, and I love how well the typography suits long-form reading. Offline reading is a huge plus, and the audio versions of select articles are a thoughtful touch for on-the-go listening. Daily crossword and puzzles add fun.Overall, this app is a must-have if you're a fan of intelligent writing and beautifully stories.
Two nights ago (19SEP25) you pushed an update that fixed the problem. Much better! Now we can enjoy the puzzle again. Thank you. New "update" installed (12SEP25) and now I can't see the bottom row of keys on the crossword keyboard. Fix it!
Good written content from the magazine, but the audio portion is badly managed. The audio feed is less stable than Spotify's. There's no carryover of episode progress from the desktop site to mobile.
An initially good app that is getting worse and worse. Some features are apparently unusable without installing a separate browser, crashes are becoming more and more frequent, and the app keeps telling me to sign in to use it despite the "account" section telling me that I am already signed in and my subscription is active. These issues have worsened since a previous review and app support was unhelpful. A mobile browser provides a better experience without the friction and failures of the app.
My previous issues remain unaddressed, and now there's a new issue. When I open a crossword on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the navigation bar at the bottom covers a portion of the keyboard, making unusable. So it has become impossible to do crosswords in the app! My earlier issues: No ability to change font or text size, no dark mode. Slow to load stories. Good content, but not a great app, unfortunately.
