About this app

The Periodic Table app by Nirmal Labs solves the problem of quick and easy access to detailed information about chemical elements, benefiting students, educators, and professionals in the field of chemistry. Compared to alternatives in the Education category, this app stands out with its comprehensive dataset including valance, covalent radius, ion charge, electronegativity, and more. However, its relatively small user base and limited version history might raise concerns about long-term support and updates. Despite this, its high user rating and lack of ads make it a compelling choice for those seeking an ad-free learning experience.

Pros

  • With a user rating of 4.4 out of 5, this app demonstrates a high level of user satisfaction, indicating that it effectively meets the needs of its target audience.
  • The app's comprehensive dataset, including detailed information about each chemical element, makes it a valuable resource for both students and professionals in the field of chemistry.
  • The absence of ads and in-app purchases ensures an uninterrupted learning experience, aligning with the needs of users who value educational content without monetization distractions.
  • The developer's provision of a website and email contact information suggests a commitment to transparency and user support, which can be reassuring for users seeking assistance or having questions.
  • Given its small size and efficient design, the app is likely to perform well even on less powerful devices, making it accessible to a broader range of users.

Cons

  • One concern is the app's relatively small user base and download number, which might indicate limited community support or slower updates compared to more popular alternatives.
  • Although the app requires no permissions, which is a positive from a privacy standpoint, the lack of transparency about data collection and usage policies could be a concern for some users.
  • The app's limited version history and the fact that it has not received a significant number of updates might suggest that it is not actively being developed or improved, which could impact its long-term usefulness and compatibility with future Android versions.

Best for: The ideal user for the Periodic Table app is a student of chemistry, ranging from high school to university levels, or a professional in a field related to chemistry, who requires quick and detailed access to chemical element information for study, research, or reference purposes, and values an ad-free, user-friendly interface.

Developer Description

Valance, covalent radius, ion charge, electronegativity, color and more

In the Periodic Table application you will find a huge amount of data about chemical elements for free. You will learn a lot of new and useful for yourself, no matter you are a schoolboy, student, engineer, housewife or a person of any other provisions that does not have a refresher to Chemistry.

The chemistry falls into to number of the most important sciences and is one of the main school objects.
Its studying begins with the Periodic Table. Interactive approach to a training material is more effective than classical. As in it technologies which became the family for the modern pupils are used.

Periodic Table is a free application for Android which displays the entire periodic table on opening. The table has a long-form approved by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). As well as the Periodic Table of chemical elements, there is also a Table of Solubility.

- When you click on any element it gives you information that is constantly updated.
- Most of the elements have an image.
- For further information, there are direct links to Wikipedia for each element.
- Table of solubility data
- To find any element you can use the user-friendly search feature.
- You can sort the items in 10 categories:
• Alkaline earth metals
• Other nonmetals
• Alkali metals
• Halogens
• Transition metals
• Noble gases
• Semiconductor
• Lanthanides
• Metalloids
• Actinides
Elements of the selected category will be listed in the search results and are highlighted in the table on the main application screen.

The periodic table is a tabular display of the chemical elements, organised on the basis of their properties. Elements are presented in increasing atomic number. The main body of the table is a 18 × 7 grid, with gaps included in to keep elements with similar properties together, such as the halogens and the noble gases. These gaps form four distinct rectangular areas or blocks. The f-block is not included in the main table, but rather is usually floated below, as an inline f-block would make the table impractically wide. The periodic table accurately predicts the properties of various elements and the relations between properties. As a result, it provides a useful framework for analyzing chemical behavior, and is widely used in chemistry and other sciences.

Privacy

Given that the Periodic Table app requires no permissions, it presents a low risk to user privacy. However, users should still be cautious about any data they might voluntarily share with the developer through email or other means. It is also advisable to keep an eye on future updates and the developer's privacy policy, should one become available, to ensure that the app continues to prioritize user data protection.

Tips

To get the most out of this app, users should explore all the detailed information available for each element, including valance, covalent radius, and electronegativity. For optimal performance, ensure your device has sufficient storage space and consider restarting your device periodically to maintain app efficiency. Additionally, users can utilize the app offline, which is beneficial for studying or working in areas with limited internet connectivity.
