This game works! About a year ago I downloaded a few step-oriented games. They all fell off one by one but this one. The mini games are fun and my young kids like to name and play with the pets. I will say, however, that it has a few downsides. It doesn't link with my Samsung watch so it counts about 60 percent of my steps. After about 7 months, I paid for the ad free version because it started feeling too ad-based to progress. BUT! I liked it enough to buy it and that says A LOT.

Charming creatures, furnishings, and graphics. Fun mini games. Good motivation to walk more. Some of the ads are not appropriate for kids. A lot of kids will be using Stepets, so the devs ought to be mindful of which kinds of ads are shown in the free version. Not everyone has a decent income to pay for luxuries like this app.

Honestly, the concept of the game is amazing, but you can barely progress without watching ads all the time. And I wouldn't have too big of an issue with that if the app didn't crash almost every time I got one. If that problem was fixed, and you maybe got gems a bit more often, the game would be perfect!

Ad hell. 60 second ads in most cases, plus five seconds to stare at the ad card, then another ad card, by then you've pressed "x" three times. I've never seen such an egregious amount of ads in my life. Love the app itself, but the ads lead me to want to uninstall. update: they made the ads 5x worse after I left this review. Get a Tamagotchi instead.
