Mike, Moto g13 running Android 13 (25/10/25) Ver. 5.8.1 It works well enough for me. Small so doesn't take up too much space on the phone, it's got the features I need. NO ADS, WAS great, that has changed apparently. I'm not seeing any because I haven't and won't update the app. But, if I start seeing ads, I will immediately delete the app. 'Simple music player by Anrimian or VLC have no ads.' (25/10/25 JUST DELTED Simple Music Player.)

mixed, going downhill. used to be a clean experience, now there are annoying ads. also, it doesn't recognize that one album can have multiple artists. each artist is listed with a separate album of the same name and there is no way to play them all as a single album.

Edit: you say that ads are only in the free version, but I can't get to it because of the ads. Worst experience! Immediately on open started playing an ad. I clicked on the X three times, it took me to the install page rather than closing the ad. After I clicked the X a fourth time, it wanted access to notifications and local media, which I would allow it to do once I checked out the interface. It wouldn't allow me to do that. Uninstalled because of the horrible UX and the egregious ads.
