About this app

The StrengthLog – Workout Tracker app solves the problem of disorganized workout routines by providing a comprehensive training log and program, benefiting individuals who regularly engage in strength training and fitness exercises. Compared to alternatives in the Health And Fitness category, StrengthLog stands out with its high user rating and moderate download numbers, indicating a loyal user base. However, its limited permissions and lack of ads suggest a focused approach on user experience. The app's high rating and developer reputation indicate a well-designed and effective tool for fitness enthusiasts.

Pros

  • With over 100,000 downloads and a 4.7-star rating, StrengthLog has demonstrated its effectiveness and reliability in tracking workouts and providing training programs, making it a top choice for those seeking a trustworthy fitness companion.
  • The app's lack of permissions is a significant advantage, as it ensures that users' data is protected and not unnecessarily shared, which is a major concern in the health and fitness category.
  • The developer's reputation and website presence suggest a commitment to user support and continuous improvement, which is essential for an app that requires regular updates and feedback.
  • The in-app purchase model allows users to access premium features without being bombarded with ads, providing a clean and focused user experience.
  • The app's compatibility with Android 8.0 and above ensures that a wide range of devices can use the app, making it accessible to a broader audience.

Cons

  • One concern is the limited free version, which may not provide enough features for casual users, potentially leading to a high upfront cost for those who want to access the full range of training programs and tracking features.
  • The app's reliance on in-app purchases may lead to a fragmented user experience, with some features only available to those who pay, which could be a deterrent for users who are accustomed to free or ad-supported fitness apps.
  • Some users may find the app's focus on strength training limiting, as it may not cater to other forms of exercise or fitness goals, such as cardio or flexibility training.
  • The lack of a free trial or demo version makes it difficult for new users to test the app's features and functionality before committing to a purchase.

Best for: The ideal user for StrengthLog is a fitness enthusiast, likely between the ages of 18 and 45, who regularly engages in strength training and is looking for a comprehensive and organized way to track their workouts and progress, with a moderate to advanced level of technical skill and a willingness to invest in a premium fitness app.

fantastic app, even with the free version. I don't even notice ads (edit: I'm a goober, there aren't even ads in the first place), and the features are very intuitive. The muscle map, extensive exercise library (again, even on the free version), and the whole setup overall makes it easy to track workouts and stay motivated with exercise. I'm genuinely pleased.

I don't know what happened, but it glitched out. And now it's telling me I did a 100 million pounds in a single workout and now every single workout reads in the millions of pounds? I've cleared the cache and also uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Updated review. This has replaced my previous combo of note and strength logging apps. Not much is missing. Updates come often, and you can upvote suggested new features. However, there are some bugs, like one that duplicates exercises, deletes sets, and creates invisible ones. This usually happens when switching exercises mid-session with drop sets. The devs are responsive and aware, but it’s still unresolved. Bugs are expected, but this one removed two stars from me. 3/5.

Was all in on moving over to this app but a few features I need are behind the pay wall. That would be fine but 100 dollars a year is insane for any app.
