With the bird guide "Birds of the Netherlands and Belgium" you can get to know and identify all bird species occurring in the Netherlands and Belgium. The free version contains the most common types and can be expanded with paid subscriptions, which can be canceled at any time.

This field guide, published by the renowned Bird Information Center on Texel, is ideal for both novice and advanced bird watchers. With the free version of the app you already get a comprehensive package of all 320 most common bird species and many functions.

Important in this app are the unique identification cards, which are specially made for the birds that occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. They show the different (sub)species and the different plumage. Each card also contains special features and distinguishing marks that draw attention to possible confusion with other species.

Another important part of the species descriptions is the extensive textual information about the occurrence and size of the bird, but also the appearance, the identification characteristics of a bird species and the very similar bird species. Text about the population, species status, noise, eggs and behavior can also be found. The descriptive text contains notes on the special features of the adult males and females, as well as on the various other plumage and the younger birds. The free version of the app also includes a European distribution map for each species.

Further functions of the free basic version are a manual identification function, the possibility to compare different types directly with each other and a search function. This comparison function can be used for the pictures as well as for the cards, eggs and sounds. It is also possible to register, save, retrieve and export observed birds.

The free basic version of the app can be supplemented with even more extensive content and fun, useful additional functions. These are available as part of a monthly or annual subscription. The subscriptions can be canceled at any time. Part of the proceeds from the subscriptions go to the protection of birds in the Netherlands.
