The new WDR aktuell app presents the most important news from North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and the world, including sports news - compactly and clearly in text, audio and video. In addition, you can quickly and easily compile your personal news feed and receive current weather and traffic information, which you can also adapt to your needs.

In the headline feed, the app provides an overview of the news. In addition to contributions from the WDR, we also provide you with news from the Tagesschau and Sportschau. In the headlines you will receive the latest issues of WDR aktuell from radio and television on demand.

Are you particularly interested in a certain region or city in NRW? Or for a specific topic? In the app you can put together your personal news feed "My Topics".

The app and its contents are free of charge for you. We recommend accessing audios and videos with a view to the data volume from the WLAN or via a cellular data flat rate.

Is there a way of reducing the amount of data this app uses? Quality of video streams etc? I ask as a friend has this and it uses huge amounts of data?

I know this issue will only affect a small percentage of users... Unfortunately there is no possibility to translate to English within the app. Also not possible to copy and paste into my separate Google translate app.
