Sticky Terms v20.1
Philipp StollenmayerAbout this app
Sticky Terms is a word game that solves the problem of language barriers by introducing players to untranslatable words, making it an engaging and educational experience for language enthusiasts and travelers alike. This app benefits those who enjoy word games and are interested in linguistics, standing out from other Game Word category apps with its unique concept. Compared to alternatives, Sticky Terms has a strong focus on cultural exchange and language learning. However, its simplicity might fall short for players seeking more complex gameplay mechanics.
Pros
- With a 4.4/5 rating and over 50,000 downloads, Sticky Terms has demonstrated its quality and appeal to a significant number of users, indicating a well-designed and enjoyable experience.
- The app's developer, Philipp Stollenmayer, has a professional website and provides a direct contact email, showing transparency and a commitment to user support and feedback.
- Sticky Terms does not require any permissions, which is a significant advantage in terms of user privacy and security, as it minimizes potential data collection and misuse.
- The game's offline capability, implied by the lack of internet permissions, makes it accessible in areas with poor internet connectivity, enhancing its usability and convenience.
- The free-to-play model with ads allows users to try the game without upfront costs, though the presence of ads might be a drawback for some users seeking an ad-free experience.
Cons
- The presence of ads in the game might disrupt the user experience, especially if they are intrusive or frequent, which could deter some players from continuing to play.
- The simplicity of the game might not appeal to players who are looking for more complex word games or puzzles, potentially limiting its longevity and replay value.
- There is limited information available about the game's update frequency and whether new content is regularly added, which could impact its long-term engagement and freshness.
- The app's small size and limited functionality might suggest a lack of depth in terms of features or game modes, which could be a drawback for players seeking a more comprehensive word game experience.
Best for: The ideal user for Sticky Terms is a language enthusiast or traveler aged 16-40 with a medium to high level of technical skill, who is interested in word games, linguistics, and cultural exchange, and is looking for an educational yet entertaining experience that can be enjoyed both online and offline.

A great game with easy-ish puzzles that reward you with an interesting word in a foreign language (he said, writing in English). Watch an ad to get several more puzzles (you won't mind). Relaxing, slightly puzzling and interesting. As others have said, it would be great to have soundbites of the word being pronounced, although to get it right, it would require significant effort to find so many native speakers! Great job!
Aesthetically pleasing, polished, simple and puzzling. A great game to play to get a few minutes to pass by quicker without boring you. I love learning new foreign words I can easily remember with this game. However, for the one-purpose content this game has, it's a bit silly that we have to watch a long ad to unlock every single catagory. Nevertheless, it is better than having intrusive ads cut in the middle of your game time, and for a solid game the creator does deserve to be paid.
On some of the words, it rotates the screen, which glitches the entire functionality out so then I can't continue on through it. Still, you made a really good game just hope you fix the problem. I'm using an A11 by the way.
