Morse Chat: Talk in Morse Code v3.4.5
Dong DigitalAbout this app
Morse Chat: Talk in Morse Code solves the problem of connecting amateur and ham radio enthusiasts worldwide, allowing them to communicate in a unique and nostalgic way. This app benefits most those who are passionate about morse code and radio communication, providing a platform to meet like-minded individuals. Compared to other communication apps, Morse Chat stands out with its niche feature set, but may fall short in terms of broader appeal. With a high user rating and moderate download numbers, it has established a dedicated community.
Pros
- The app's excellent user rating of 4.7/5 indicates a high level of user satisfaction, suggesting that the developer has successfully created an engaging and functional platform.
- With over 100,000 downloads, Morse Chat has achieved a moderate level of social proof, demonstrating its appeal to a sizable audience of amateur radio enthusiasts.
- The app's lack of permission requests is a significant advantage, as it suggests a strong commitment to user privacy and security.
- The developer's reputation, as evident from their website and email support, appears to be professional and dedicated to user support.
- The app's offline capability is not explicitly stated, but its small size and simple functionality suggest that it may be usable without an internet connection, making it a great option for users in areas with limited connectivity.
Cons
- The app's monetization model, which includes in-app purchases, may be a concern for some users, as it could lead to a pay-to-use experience or create a sense of nickel-and-diming.
- The lack of information about the types of data collected and stored by the app is a concern, as users may be unsure about how their personal information is being used.
- Some users may find the app's focus on morse code limiting, as it may not offer the same level of functionality or flexibility as other communication apps.
- The app's compatibility with devices running Android 7.0 or later may be a limitation for some users, as it excludes those with older devices or alternative operating systems.
Best for: The ideal user for Morse Chat is an amateur or ham radio enthusiast, likely between the ages of 25 and 55, with a strong interest in morse code and radio communication, and a moderate to high level of technical skill, who is looking for a unique and engaging way to connect with like-minded individuals.

Morse Code
Morse code is a communication system that uses a series of short signals (also known as dots or dits) and long signals (also known as dashes or dahs) to transmit characters. The initial version of it was developed by Samuel F. B. Morse as a method to transmit natural language through the telegraph in the mid-19th century.
Morse Chat
Morse Chat is an app that allows users to communicate with others using Morse code. Once you sign in, you’ll see 3 big buttons which correspond to 3 main ways of chatting.
- Public Rooms. A number of rooms (10 WPM or less, 15 WPM, 20 WPM or more, Test room and so on) has been created to allow chatting with fellow Morse code enthusiasts. These rooms are open to everyone. Contact us if you have an idea for a new public room.
- Private Rooms. These can be created by premium users, and joined by any user (premium or not) who gets the room ID and password (case sensitive) or is invited by an existing room member.
- Direct Messages (DMs). These are private messages between two participants. Simply create a DM by searching the other user’s display name or call sign.

Great app! It's a nice addon to the morsemania app to practice your Morse skills with other students. I recommend it a lot! I think it would be good to have a pause button, especially in the beginning when you're not able to translate messages on the fly.
Certainly a great app, enjoying it with my friend. What's annoying is that some symbols are not correctly recognised, examples including the opening bracket ( or the Ä, while others like ), Ü or Ö work fine. Please improve the detection there, the [KN] where there should be a ( really bothers me...
decent app, wish there were more people online. The new guys on the 10 wpm server are a mess, just sending out random bits and dots on the air, it's almost impossible to have a conversation
trying to write some thing, gives other example I was writing oh! while it gave something else
Use anything but this. There is no Morse code chart, You can't read Morse code (you need premium for that) And you can't adjust speed for anything
