DMCOCOA is a Mobile Application developed with two functions, namely acting as a) Cocoa Borer Caterpillar Pest Monitoring and Management System (UPBK) also known scientifically as Conopomorpha cramerella and b) Database for Cocoa Yield Records. The UPBK Pest Monitoring and Management System in this application serves to help cocoa growers determine the appropriate time when pesticide spray is needed to control the population of cocoa borer caterpillar pest eggs (UPBK) so as not to achieve economic losses. While the second function as a database, this application can record cocoa bean yield data whether wet or dry as well as the sales value of cocoa bean yield at each transaction made. This DMCOCOA application is developed using two languages, namely Malay and English. The UPBK Pest Monitoring and Management System in the DMCOCOA Application was developed using the Model Driven Decision Support System known by the acronym SSKBM. The DMCOCOA application is designed to help cocoa growers increase the effectiveness of deciding on the time of pesticide spraying required to control the UPBK egg population to be below the Economy Threshold Level which means loss of yield value equal to pest management costs. Decisions are made based on a combination of information to calculate the value of the economic threshold level involving UPBK pest management costs such as pesticide costs and spraying workers as well as cocoa yield losses calculated from the market price of wet cocoa beans, number of UPBK egg densities per fruit and linear regression model of loss. cocoa yields due to UPBK eggs. Sequential Sampling Plan is used for the UPBK Pest Monitoring and Management System in this DMCOCOA Application. The advantage of using a Sampling Sequence Plan is that the sample size is not predetermined, but is determined fractionally based on the results made on each more cost effective sampling. This DMCOCOA Mobile Application benefits especially cocoa entrepreneurs and cocoa estate workers in the Southeast Asian region who are experiencing serious UPBK attack problems by helping to reduce the use of unnecessary pesticides and in turn will increase the profits of cocoa and estate operators.
