Chess Tactics Pro (Puzzles) v5.04
LR StudiosAbout this app
Chess Tactics Pro is a comprehensive puzzle game that solves the problem of improving chess skills for players of all levels, with its large collection of puzzles catering to beginners, intermediate, and advanced players alike. This app benefits most chess enthusiasts looking to enhance their strategic thinking and tactical prowess. Compared to alternatives in the Game Puzzle category, Chess Tactics Pro stands out for its extensive puzzle library and excellent user rating, but may fall short in terms of its relatively simple user interface. The app's strong reputation and regular updates make it a top choice among chess players.
Pros
- With over 1 million downloads and an excellent user rating of 4.7/5, Chess Tactics Pro has demonstrated its ability to provide high-quality content that meets the needs of a wide range of players, making it a trustworthy choice for those seeking to improve their chess skills.
- The app's offline capability allows users to access puzzles anywhere, anytime, without requiring an internet connection, which is particularly useful for commuters or those in areas with limited internet access.
- The developer's reputation for creating well-designed and engaging puzzle games is evident in Chess Tactics Pro, with its clean and intuitive interface making it easy for players to navigate and focus on improving their chess skills.
- The app's frequent updates ensure that new content is regularly added, keeping the game fresh and exciting for long-time players, and the option for in-app purchases provides additional puzzle packs for those seeking more challenging content.
- The lack of required permissions is a significant advantage, as it ensures that users' personal data is protected and not unnecessarily accessed by the app.
Cons
- One concern is the presence of ads, which may be distracting or annoying for some players, particularly during intense puzzle-solving sessions, and the option to remove ads via in-app purchase may not be appealing to all users.
- The monetization model, while not overly aggressive, may lead to some players feeling pressured to make in-app purchases to access additional content or features, which could be a drawback for those on a tight budget or preferring a one-time payment model.
- Some users may find the app's simplicity in terms of graphics and sound effects to be a drawback, as it lacks the polished and immersive experience offered by some other puzzle games, although this is a trade-off for the app's focus on providing a wide range of high-quality puzzles.
- The app's compatibility with older devices may be limited due to its requirement of Android 6.0 or higher, which could be a concern for players using older hardware.
Best for: The ideal user for Chess Tactics Pro is a chess enthusiast of any age and skill level, from beginners looking to learn basic tactics to advanced players seeking to refine their strategic thinking, who values a comprehensive and well-organized puzzle library and is willing to invest time and potentially money to improve their chess skills.

Chess Tactics Pro (Puzzles) users say on Google Play
I've been using this app for five years and am completely happy with it. I paid a few dollars to remove Ads and the developer continues support without asking for more money. A very nice piece of software.
would love to see some sort of "heat map" on the level screen for each section. green if you solved with no errors, red had an error. that way I can go back revisit problems that I didn't get the first time. also when going thru the progress section, if it would tell what move should of been made, hard to learn from mistakes if you don't know what you did wrong.
Does not accept any alternative moves. Some necessary options are missing. scoring is offensive. It does not stimulate the player. Normally it should not immediately deduct points after wrong move. 2-3 attempts should be allowed. With say declining score. Otherwise educational effect is nearly zero. No reason to continue thinking on the task.No way to return back to the puzzle once you for example accidentally hit "next"
has only few free puzzles
you have to pay, just use lichess instead
