Enjoyed this story from the start to the end; it gradually sinks its claws into you, but the atmosphere isn't too scary. It's more so creepy and filled with lovable characters to help chase away the spooks! The mysteries kept me guessing, and even now, I want to know more. I also liked how this one had a variety of choices on the screen, not just 3 or 4. It will actually make replays worth it. I'll be eagerly waiting for book 2.
Very well written and extremely atmospheric. Loved the creepy aura suffusing the town, it came across perfectly in the text. The characters are really well rounded, so is MC. Parts of the story do drag on unnecessarily - Do we really need 5 pages describing a candle being lit? The whole thing also seemed more of a really long prologue than a first full book, and the ending and subsequent cliffhanger were a bit rushed/jarring. All in all though, a very solid start. Looking forward to Book 2!
I have a very unique critique for this one.. so the story is great, lot of unique characters, BUT, the writing or writing style, not sure, was terrible. To explain: everything is OVERLY described, like for an alien that doesnt understand how humans work, and for most of it I skimmed through it. I didnt even need to read all of it cause it was mostly describing how someone would feel or act certain way instead of building a picture. Aside from the unnecessary explaining of everything, it was good
It was boring honestly
This COH has the potential to be one of my all time favorites, but unfortunately I have been suffering from a bug that has completely killed the experience. My progress has gotten completely erased at least 4 times now, and each time I have had to restart and make my way back to the point where I left off. This has practically made the story unreadable for me. If this bug ever gets fixed then they story will be an easy 5/5
