AI Factory's Backgammon is the best free Backgammon game on Android!
Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy; one of the world's classic parlour board games, played for recreation and gambling. Like Mahjong, Backgammon is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically, variants of this game are believed to have been played in Mesopotamia and Egypt thousands of years ago, then by the Romans and later in India. It also spread to East Asia, but was largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the West.

Backgammon Pro users say on Google Play
I've played this game for a number of years and complained about the computer's doubling strategy and overall skill level. Since the most recent updates, it plays much better with more sensible doubling and playing skill. I'm still winning regularly (3:2) at level 8 and 11 point matches but it's better. It still does some questionable moves and seems all too ready to hit my pieces when that would leave it way too open to being hit but, as I said, way better game experience!.
Overall the game is very good, but there are some quirks. If you allow the automated bearing off the choice of pieces is somewhat odd. For instance with a 2/6 throw the game moves a piece 2, then 6, when a move of just 6 would clear the piece meaning the 2 move is lost even when there's another piece that could use it. And it's annoying that the computer won't resign even when it's mathematically impossible for it to win.
I've liked this game until recently. I've played for real for over 50 years and never have I seen the multiple doubles hit in the way this game does to skew results either for or against the cpu. It's also become buggy as it stops responding at least 4-5 times a game. Fix the bugs and if the dice is truly meant to be random, then something is buggy with your algorithms. Also, calling your users deluded and sad for observing the same thing is no way to treat people who are funding your endeavors.
Fact the higher the level the more often the CPU goes 1st. On the higher levels the CPU almost always rolls doubles after the player rolls doubles. It seems to be part of the CPU's strategy of always rolling doubles after the player gains the advantage. I have tracked this behavior on paper & the stats show this really is happening. It's strategy is the dice & it shows. Stop lying.
Dice manipulation Doubling cube cheating.
