mconnect Control v2.4.76
Conversdigital Co., Ltd.About this app
The mconnect Control app is designed to control ConversDigital's mconnect products, aiming to provide a seamless user experience for those invested in this ecosystem. Given its niche purpose, it benefits most those who already own or plan to own ConversDigital devices, offering them a centralized control solution. Compared to other apps in the Music And Audio category, mconnect Control stands out due to its specific focus on device control rather than content playback or creation. However, its below-average user rating suggests significant issues that may deter potential users.
Pros
- The app's lack of permissions is a significant advantage, indicating that it does not collect or access sensitive user data, which is a plus for privacy-conscious users.
- As a free app with no in-app purchases or ads, mconnect Control provides an uninterrupted experience, which is beneficial for users who value simplicity and are averse to monetization models that can be intrusive.
- For users of ConversDigital products, this app offers a straightforward way to control their devices, potentially enhancing their overall music and audio experience through convenient device management.
- The developer, Conversdigital Co., Ltd., provides a website and email contact, which could indicate a level of commitment to customer support and feedback, though the effectiveness of this support remains to be seen.
- Given its small size and the fact that it requires Android 5.0 or later, the app is accessible to a wide range of devices, making it inclusive for users with older hardware.
Cons
- The app's below-average rating of 2.3/5 suggests that there are significant issues with its performance, usability, or functionality that deter users, which could be a major turn-off for potential downloads.
- The limited number of downloads (10,000+) and the lack of detailed information about the app's features and updates might indicate a lack of active development or community engagement, which could impact its long-term viability and support.
- Without more detailed information on the app's functionality and user interface, it's challenging to assess its effectiveness fully, but the low rating implies that it may not meet user expectations in terms of ease of use or feature set.
- The app's specific focus on controlling ConversDigital devices limits its appeal to a narrow audience, which, while beneficial for those within that niche, restricts its broader applicability and adoption.
Best for: The ideal user for mconnect Control is someone who is already invested in the ConversDigital ecosystem, likely an individual with a specific need for controlling their mconnect devices in a centralized manner, possibly with a medium to high level of technical skill to navigate any potential setup or compatibility issues that may arise.

A little slow .. Bit clunky here and there
The interface is ugly but works fine with my gato audio. However, it should remember what was playing after closing it as many other apps do. Both apps (control and player) should integrate themselves and have only one. Gapless seems to be forgotten everytime. It would be very nice to be able to combine a playlist from different sources i.e. Qobuz, DropBox and local content.. Finally, it must be manuallz closed as it drains the battery if left "open", even when not playing anything at all.
does allow connection of high resolution DACs/music servers/streamers, throws errors about every 10 minutes some stop the music
Volume control allows unintended full scale. The volume wheel can disappear while swiping thus allowing the volume bar underneath to be touched all the way to the right. This causes full volume and may damage equipment. This needs to be corrected by either limiting volume increments VS time or just providing the volume wheel only or +/- buttons. The slider is very dangerous!!!!!!! Fix this immediately!!
Just broken. Please fix this!! What happened? I need this to play tidal mqa on my PS Audio Bridge ii, but it randomly skips to the next track or stops playing during each and every song I listen to. Other players like bubbleupnp and roon are just fine. What a frustrating app.
