This War of Mine: Stories Ep 1 v1.0.4
11 bit studiosAbout this app
This War of Mine: Stories Ep 1 solves the problem of providing a meaningful and emotional survival simulation experience, benefiting fans of the Game Simulation category who crave a deeper storyline. Compared to alternatives, it stands out with its strong narrative focus and realistic survival mechanics. However, it falls short in terms of replayability and variety in gameplay. The app's moderate download numbers and mixed user rating suggest a dedicated but not overwhelmingly large user base.
Pros
- The app's paid model with no ads or in-app purchases ensures an uninterrupted and respectful user experience, allowing players to focus on the game without distractions.
- The developer, 11 bit studios, has a reputation for creating thought-provoking and emotionally engaging games, which is evident in the attention to detail and storytelling in This War of Mine: Stories Ep 1.
- The game's offline capability and lack of permissions requests make it a secure and private experience, suitable for players who value their data protection.
- The app's moderate size and Android requirement of 5.0 ensure that it is accessible to a wide range of devices, making it a good option for players with older or lower-end hardware.
- The game's realistic survival mechanics and crafting system provide a challenging and engaging experience, requiring players to think strategically and make tough decisions to survive.
Cons
- The app's mixed user rating and some concerns suggest that the game may not be perfect, with some players experiencing issues with the gameplay or storyline.
- The lack of replayability and variety in gameplay may limit the app's long-term appeal, making it a shorter experience than some players may expect.
- The game's mature theme and content may not be suitable for all players, particularly younger audiences, and the app's rating of Mature 17+ should be taken seriously.
- The app's relatively high price point of $2.99 may be a barrier for some players, particularly those who are unsure about the game's quality or content.
Best for: The ideal user for This War of Mine: Stories Ep 1 is a mature and emotionally mature player who is looking for a thought-provoking and realistic survival simulation experience, likely between the ages of 18 and 40, with a strong interest in storytelling and strategy games, and who values a respectful and uninterrupted gaming experience without ads or in-app purchases.

I don't typically like giving 5 stars. Even this game has areas that could be improved, but this game still gets it. I love the original, and this one took it to the next level. The addition of a mission with goals, clues, & NPC interactions brought a real sense of urgency. I just finished the father/daughter storyline. As a single father and combat-veteran with a few mental health diagnosis, this one really hit home for me. This game taught me about myself. That's a new experience for me.
I enjoy these games, but I would love a game that isn't just meant to be super realistic. I can imagine a great game with these ideologies implemented in it. Still super realistic, though, but with more options. I love realism, but at this level, it becomes kind of bland.
I'm sure it's a good game, but when I installed it as of the 27th of August this app does not open on the a71 5g. Will try again soon and update rating
Good game, but the man keeps glitching. He just stands there and won't move. No matter how many times I tell him to move. I have to restart the day to get him to respond. Absolutely irritating. If it carries on I'll ask for a refund. Edit: it's now November 2022, I originally reviewed this game feb 2021, and still no reply from the devs. The game is still glitchy and freezes. I got a refund in the end.
1) they're using PC pictures to advertise the game in play store! that's why the grahics look higher quality, but it is actually the same quality as the standard! 2) unlike the standard one, this one has nothing gameplay-wise, there's 1 ending, they give you tons to eat, doesn't get cold before it's over, all no longer a factor. also, no reason to build anything other than the cooker...this is just a short story that you sit through, without any of the original challenges from the standard game.
