Rebel Cops v1.8
HandyGamesAbout this app
Rebel Cops is a turn-based strategy game that solves the problem of monotony in mobile gaming by offering thrilling, tactical missions, making it a great option for fans of the genre. This app benefits strategy enthusiasts and those looking for a challenging experience, setting itself apart from other games in the category with its unique blend of turn-based mechanics and law enforcement theme. Compared to alternatives, Rebel Cops stands out with its offline capability and lack of ads or in-app purchases, providing an uninterrupted gaming experience. However, its relatively simple graphics might fall short for players seeking more visually stunning games.
Pros
- With over 100,000 downloads and a 3.8/5 rating, Rebel Cops has demonstrated its appeal to a moderate but engaged user base, indicating a level of social proof and quality.
- The absence of ads and in-app purchases enhances the user experience, allowing players to focus on the game without interruptions or additional costs, which is a significant advantage in the strategy genre.
- The game's developer, HandyGames, has a reputation for producing high-quality games, which adds to the credibility and trustworthiness of Rebel Cops.
- Rebel Cops requires no permissions, which is a significant pro in terms of privacy and security, as users do not have to worry about their data being accessed or shared unnecessarily.
- The game's offline capability makes it accessible in areas with poor internet connectivity, enhancing its usability and flexibility.
Cons
- One concern is the game's simplicity in terms of graphics, which might not appeal to players accustomed to more visually complex games, potentially limiting its appeal to a broader audience.
- The paid model, while fair for the quality provided, might deter some potential users who prefer free-to-play options or are hesitant to pay for mobile games without trying them first.
- The lack of updates or new content might lead to player fatigue over time, as the game's replay value could be limited by its static nature and lack of multiplayer or dynamic elements.
- Some users might find the game's theme or difficulty level not to their liking, which could lead to negative reviews and a lower overall rating.
Best for: The ideal user for Rebel Cops is a strategy game enthusiast, likely between the ages of 18 and 40, with a medium to high level of technical skill, who is looking for a challenging, tactical experience that can be enjoyed offline, and is willing to pay a small fee for a high-quality, ad-free gaming experience without in-app purchases.
Developer Description
Rebel Cops features thrilling, tactical missions with turn-based mechanics.
Viktor Zuev, a sadistic crime boss new on the scene, has quickly taken the town of Ripton by the throat. The community's leaders and even the local police have surrendered to his will. A master of intimidation and blackmail, Zuev has seized every major business in town, all of which he now controls as his own private fiefdom. But an outlaw band of renegade cops refuses to bow. With little hope of success, they fight on -- for justice and the soul of their town.
Gunfights are thrilling, but stealth is key
You're fighting a guerilla war, out-manned and out-gunned. Use concealment and cover, approach the enemy quietly, and take them down before they can raise the alarm. You have at your disposal an arsenal of non-lethal weapons and equipment, as well as special tactical perks, which you can unlock as you upgrade your rebels. True, sometimes violence seems inevitable, but when the time comes, don't hesitate: neither you nor the criminals have health bars. When someone is shot, they'll bleed out quickly.
Explore, scavenge, and watch your back
Rebel Cops features not only compact operations where you need to fight for every inch of ground, but also large open locations to explore -- the sandbox levels. Search each room, crack open safes and vaults, try to get into inaccessible areas -- and grab everything that looks useful. Stay together and proceed with caution, or accept the risks, fan-out, and try to explore every corner.
Take the high road, or the low road
Zuev's mercilessness is the key to his power. Can you defeat him without playing by his rules? Will you answer the needs of the desperate townspeople, even if it means putting the whole operation at risk? Will you spare civilian guards who are only doing their jobs? Some say that in war, you have to do whatever it takes to survive, but remember: reputation is more valuable than money. Bad blood on the street can easily put your good name in the mud. Merchants will refuse to do business with you, and even some of your own people might turn their backs on you.

Rebel Cops users say on Google Play
I love the genre/setting of the game with all my heart, and this is by far the best turn-based game I've played. The only issue I came across was the game sometimes taking a long time to process when you make a cop do an action, as well as an issue with the border when you have the sniper shoot in the farmhouse/mansion level. There's also no reason to aim for the head, but if criminals wore body armor or tried to revive each other, then it would. I also don't know if there's multiple endings.
I think it's a good concept and fun. I really like the turn based gameplay. Only thing is that it is an incredibly difficult game. Tried on Normal first, gave up, switched to Easy mode and it still took me numerous attempts and many hours to get past the farmhouse mission. I'm not the best strategist or gamer, sure, but this was excessively difficult.
It's basically This is Police 2 but only the tactical missions. The game runs much better than the previous game. But the story is nonsense. Level design is questionable sometimes. I spent 4 hours on the farm mission from its size alone. The game is very short, only about 10 missions compared to previous games. Finishing the game leaves a bitter taste, as it feels like it should be just the end of Chapter 1.
Unfortunately this game freezes fairly consistently. This is a big problem in a game that can take a long time to complete 1 mission. They suggest you save frequently which basically means there are no real consequences to your actions. But you can't not save frequently because you might need to load again after a freeze.
I finally beat the 2nd level with over 80 turns, and it freezes. Even when reloaded. Wow. Edit: reinstalled, played through to that point again, and game freezes every time. Way to fail, guys. What's the solution, or does the dev care as little as this all makes it look?
