Use the BurgAbenberg app to search for clues about the history of the castle and town.

Visiting the castle from home or on the go with your smartphone? This is now possible with the BurgAbenberg app. The app opens new doors and the castle gate for you. But it gets even more exciting if you combine the app as a digital companion for exploring burgers with a visit to us.

With our app you can search for clues about the history of the town and Abenberg Castle. Look forward to an eventful circular route “From the Castle to the City”.

The circular route takes you on the trail of Abenberg's history at 15 stations. The history of the castle and the town of Abenberg are inextricably linked. On the way you will discover an old quarry, the remains of the historic city wall, the city's gates and towers and some unknown corners. Historical photographs show you a direct comparison of how the cityscape has changed over the centuries. You will immerse yourself in a medieval knight's tournament at the historic tournament site, right next to the castle.

The entire route (approx. 1.5 km) takes around 40 – 50 minutes. You can explore the trail on your own using the BurgAbenberg app or with a guided tour. The app offers detailed background information about the stations and precise orientation plans.
