Kunsthalle Schweinfurt vVARY

“Bathing in art” – that’s what the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt, a museum for contemporary art, has been saying since 2009. Where the people of Schweinfurt used to learn to swim, you can now marvel at modern art. The Schweinfurter Kunsthalle was originally an indoor swimming pool.
The Schweinfurt industrialist Ernst Sachs, the inventor of the freewheel hub for bicycles, had it built for the citizens of his hometown in the early 1930s. Today the building houses the finest contemporary art in the New Objectivity style.
The free museum app expands the museum's permanent exhibition to a digital level and offers visitors access to various media and hands-on stations on their own cell phones. With the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt museum app, the history of the house and various highlights of the museum can be explored interactively and on your own. For example, you can find out what the wall hairdryer in the museum rooms is all about and why a spray-painted banana can be found at the entrance to the museum.
The Kunsthalle Schweinfurt app is dedicated to these and many other questions. Look forward to exciting masterpieces, changing exhibitions in the former, impressive swimming pool, a cozy inner courtyard and much more!

The app is regularly revised and expanded. It was created as part of the fabulAPP project of the State Office for Non-State Museums in Bavaria, with the support of the Bayerische Sparkassenstiftung.
