Barred crosswords are similar to traditional crosswords, but they use black lines instead of black squares to separate the words.

It's annoying that I cannot just type the words without having to backspace or keep tapping on the next square.

This game is misleading. It suggests it's an English crossword. So far it's full of stupid things like American abreviations for states and other American spelt words ( these differ to English spellings ) copious amounts of Roman numerals, different words in French and German, any one number of periodic table abreviations and misleading clues unless you happen to be fluent in American....I thought it was going to be English??
