Hive the board game from John Yianni eventually with Artificial Intelligence.

Hive is a board game from John Yianni with a difference. There is no board! The pieces are added to the playing area thus creating the board. As more and more pieces are added the game becomes a fight to see who can be the first to capture the opposing Queen Bee.

The soldier ants battle to keep control of the outside of the hive, whilst the Beetles climb up to dominate the top. Spiders moving into holding positions as the Grass Hoppers jump in for the kill. Keeping one eye on the hive and the other on your opponents reserves, the tension builds as one wrong move will see your Queen Bee quickly engulfed... game over!

The main features of this application are:
-Ability to play against Artificial Intelligence with 6 Computer levels. The expert level is really challenging and only advanced players should be able to beat it.
-Online mode shared with https://en.boardgamearena.com (the largest boardgame table in the world!). Turn-based and real-time games are available.
-2 players mode (Pass and Play)
-Possibility to save/load multiple ongoing games
-Game notation can be copied to clipboard
-Undos are possible and unlimited
-Hint system (activable in the menu) to see how the AI would play in your situation
-Tutorial to help learning the rules or possibility to download rules as pdf
-Explanations of why illegal moves are illegal
-Optional tournament rules (no queen on first move)
-Display of stacked pawns (with a long click)
-Switch the view to see either from black or white side
-Possibility to change background
-Pinch to zoom
-Translated in 16 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Russian, Polish, Greek, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Catalan, Chinese, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Czech. Do not hesitate to contact me if you want to help translating in a new language!

Has expansions, for $1.50 each. Considering the base game is free, it's still a bargain only for 4.50. Comes with pass and play or online for multiplayer. AI is good, no bugs as of yet, and perfectly recreates the game. No fancy movement animations or anything, but that's not a problem.

Very simple straightforward app that works. The issue is the AI difficulty scaling is poor. The easy is far too easy to the point the game will cause itself to lose but the medium difficulty is definitely closer to hard than medium so if you are looking to play this alone as a beginner it will be quite frustrating.

Unusable for me on an android phone. If the app worked as designed it would be great, but everything about the game interface is broken

Downloaded, tried to play but had to make an account. Didn't prompt me to make a password during sign up with google so then had to follow the password reset process, after that, tried to log in and account wasn't recognised. Uninstalled, what a load of trash.
