JRiver for Android users say on Google Play
Pleasantly surprised. Seems to use less CPU than others I've used. Quickly found all music on my phone and displays them in a unique way which makes it easy to find content. It feels solid and I like the ability to use it as a server. Great work.
I've just downloaded JRiver after many years because Amazon's music app has become a gateway to sell their streaming service and the former useful interface is just a pale shadow of itself. JRiver found the music files on my phone easily and displayed what was there in a nice intuitive fashion--much clearer than on Amazon and Google's apps and no advertising--worth 10 bucks to me. The sound quality is very good. I am still trying puzzle out playlists which are not as obvious as its music display. I'll rank the player 4 stars for now and expect to upgrade it as I master it a bit more.
JRiver crashes on opening on the Google Pixel 4XL and latest Android version.
If you want to fight and struggle with your music collection, JRiver is it!I have tried for over 3 yrs to use this app reliably. It fails me almost every single time. All I want to do is play my music collection. This app fights me every single time. I am sorry I purchased it. A complete waste of $$$$. I've had free software that works better. I have tried Windows, Linux variants, and Mac OS. Nothing works right. This app sucks.... UPDATE It's 2024, this app still fails me each time.
I have just wasted £10. As someone who rates the Windows jriver player very highly for excellent hi fidelity reproduction I quickly realised the android player lacked all the sophistication of the Windows variety and was nothing more than a very simple player which as far as I could see does very little more than any number of free players, and less than some.
