My friend and I compared routes for me to get home and this app had faster times than Yahoo. I guess that's not a very scientific comparison but it's good enough for me. They're very similar so you can search by arrival time, departure time, etc with either, and results show the columns to compare: fastest, most comfortable (fewest transfers) or cheapest. If you don't speak Japanese, don't review the app just to complain. Navitime also has an English language app. FFS.

Wow! This app was super useful to me. I went and paid for a subscription so I could use the all the features. Easy to find routes. They even tell you which platform the trains arrive/depart. Just follow the numbers in the station. I could save favorite routes. It remember your search history. The reason I'm deducting a star is that I had some issues with routes with additional fares. For example, I wanted a route from Akihabara to Narita Airport. I knew there was the Skyliner airport express from Nippori. It does cost extra but it's the fastest. I could not get it to display even when I selected easy route (fewest train changes) and fastest route. I had to look up Akihabara to Nippori, then search Nippori to Narita. Anyway, I found this app to be a must have during my visit to Tokyo.

Occasionally, even when I haven't opened the app in days, I'll find that it's draining my battery even with the GPS turned off. Please fix!
