ANAGRAMS
Try moonstarer to find astronomer, also finds smaller words such as resonator and tearooms.

BLANK LETTERS
Use + to represent blank letters, enter scrabb++ to find crabbers and scrabble.

DEFINITIONS
Press the search icon next to a word to view it's definition, example usages and synonyms. You can click on the synonyms for further info and hear the word by pressing the speak button.
Note, if no definition is found the app will search the web for a definition.

FILTERS
Narrow down your results using filters, you can allow words that start with, end with, contain or exclude certain letters. A powerful feature when you need to find words that fit with other tiles on the game board.

CROSSWORDS
Use . to represent a missing letter, try c....w... to find clockwork and crossword

CROSSWORD PHRASES
Search over 100K built-in phrases, use a hyphen to denote a space, try m....-...-...... to find motte and bailey, miles per gallon and milky way galaxy

WORDLE
Green letters use the crossword search, eg ..e.t
Grey letters, add them to the Excludes Letters filter
Yellow letters, add them to the Includes Letters filter

SPELLING BEE
Spelling Bee puzzles are where you only use the letters provided but as many times as you like. Try $qntuaei to find: quinquina, aquanaut and queenie

HINTS & TIPS
Scroll through the tips for quick reminders of all the features. There is also an online user guide showing you how to use the app to help you with your favourite games.

WORD LISTS
German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese word lists are available. The app also has two purpose built word lists for US and World Scrabble®. You can change the word list in the settings menu.

Anagram Solver is not affiliated with any apps or games mentioned here and is solely a utility for helping you find words and definitions.

An essential app if you play word games. Intuitive to use, with enough features to be endlessly helpful but not cluttered. There's a robust filter feature where you can get really specific with which letters to include and where, plus patterns, wildcards, word length, and more. The price is extremely fair and I'm happy to support an app I use so often; the free version is incredible too, which I take as a sign of quality.

Good app with useful range of options. Ability to handle several solutions in parallel would be good, eg with history list. Shortcut for regex would save typing [^] for each character.

I bought the paid version of this app after using it for the New York Times spelling bee but I don't really see any additional value for the paid version. There were numerous instances in which the words that this app said existed were not recognized in the Times spelling bee. For example the paid app told me that zorbing was a word but I couldn't find it in any dictionary at all. I found many other instances like this.
