A story-driven roguelite RPG

Children of Morta is a story-driven action RPG with a roguelite approach to character development, in which you don’t play a single character but a whole, extraordinary family of heroes.

Hack’n’slash through hordes of enemies in procedurally generated dungeons, caves and lands and lead the Bergson family, with all their flaws and virtues, against the forthcoming Corruption. The story takes place in a distant land but copes with themes and emotions common to all of us: love and hope, longing and uncertainty, ultimately loss... and sacrifice we are willing to make to save the ones we care the most for.
Ultimately, it's about a family of heroes standing together against the encroaching darkness.

absolutely wonderful game that plays kinda like Diablo, but with less focus on loot and more focus on different characters with different gameplay styles. you don't NEED to pay attention to the story, but if you do, you'll find it is fantastic. one of my favorite indie games of all time, and while I play with a controller, the game works very well via touch, too!

Just getting started, but the story scenes are so intrusive. Let me play the game for a minute before interrupting with another story line. It breaks immersion rather than creating atmosphere. I'm here to play not to read a novel. Edit: the story just gets worse. Rather than being a reward for achievement, it just keeps throwing story events at you. Go into a dungeon, leave immediately, story progresses. It's not part of the game, it's overlayed onto the game, making both worse.

I HAD loved this game. Beat the base game and was playing through NG+. Until you all Introduced the online aspect of the game. Now every time I load up the game, after about 4 seconds of "game play" the game crashes. This happens every time now.
