I've used this app for over a decade now as my go-to podcast player. I'm sad to report that I am seriously considering dropping it because the ads are simply too long. I'm not willing to watch a 30 second ad just to switch podcast episodes.I understand the need to make money, but the developers need to seriously re-consider how they're working ads into the experience or risk losing longtime users.

this is the worst Android app I've ever installed. For heavy users it massively slows down the phone to the point where you think you need to replace your physical Android phone. it does a massive amount of computational work on the device to serve up ads that you don't want in the first place so they can be hyperlocal and fit into some sort of auctioning system. Google should ban castbox or anything else similar to because it is so detrimental to users.
