AquaMozc is a Japanese IME app exclusively for the Unihertz Titan/Titan Pocket/Titan Slim/Titan 2.
It supports Japanese keyboard input with PC-like ease.

This app and its developer, Aquamarine Networks, are not affiliated with Unihertz.

[Important] This app can be installed on devices other than the Unihertz Titan/Titan Pocket/Titan Slim, but only works with the Titan series. If you purchased it by mistake, please request an immediate refund.

■■About AquaMozc for Titan■■
AquaMozc for Titan (this app) is a Japanese IME app based on Mozc (https://github.com/google/mozc), an open-source version of the Google Japanese Input app, optimized for the Unihertz Titan keyboard layout.
This app treats the physical shift key as the CTRL key, allowing it to operate with standard key bindings used on PCs and other devices. This makes it ideal for users who are unfamiliar with the Unihertz Titan's native IME.

■■How to Use■■
Launch this app and follow the on-screen instructions to set it as an IME.
This app will be invoked when you press a key in an area where text can be entered.

■■Keyboard Layout (Titan)■■
Assigned as follows:
Shift → ctrl
ctrl+J/B/N/M → Cursor keys (up, down, left, right)
Other keys are as labeled.

Note: The keyboard layout will only work in the text input area.

■■Soft Keyboard (Titan)■■
When IME is enabled, a soft keyboard will appear at the bottom of the screen.

The keys are arranged from left to right: Shift, Comma, Period, Scale, Cursor Left, Cursor Right, Japanese/English Switch, and Virtual Keyboard Display.
The Shift key cycles from Unshifted to Single Key Enabled to Locked.
You can select a range by combining Shift Lock and Cursor Key operations.

■■Keyboard Layout (Titan Pocket)■■

Pre-assign the following in System Settings > Smart Assist > Shortcut Settings > Sym Key/Fn Key > Programmable Keys.
Sym Key → Ctrl Key
Fn Key → Symbol Key

Assigned as follows:
Symbol → - (Minus, Hyphen, Macro)
Ctrl+J/B/N/M → Up/Down/Left/Right Cursor Keys

The following symbols can be entered by using the ALT+SHIFT+key combination.
Press ALT+SHIFT+H to bring up the help screen.

Note: The keyboard layout only works in the text input area.

■■Soft Keyboard (Titan Pocket)■■
Enabling the "Show IME Bar" option will display a soft keyboard similar to Titan.

■■Key Functions■■
alt+space: Switch between Japanese and English modes
space: Convert
enter: Confirm
Hold alt key: Show/hide the virtual keyboard
ctrl+P/O/I/U: Alphabet conversion, Katakana conversion, etc.
ctrl+K/L: Re-sort phrase
Arrow keys left/right: Move selected phrase
ctrl+Backspace: Re-convert

■■App Settings■■
■Conversion Candidate Display Position
Set the display position of conversion candidates to either directly below the input string or at the bottom of the screen. The default is directly below the input string.

■Direct Alphanumeric Input
When enabled, keys entered in alphabet mode are directly confirmed without entering them into the conversion buffer. Alphabet predictions will be disabled.

■ Use "." as a punctuation mark
When enabled, "." will be entered instead of "." as a punctuation mark.

■ Swap Shift and Ctrl Keys (Titan Pocket only)
When enabled, swaps the positions of the Shift and Ctrl keys.

■ Show IME Bar (Titan Pocket only)
When enabled, the soft keyboard will be displayed.

■ Disable Auto-Repeat

As of September 20, 2021, we have received reports that some Titan Pockets shipped through crowdfunding have issues with key repeat rates due to hardware or OS issues.
The following symptoms have been reported to occur with these units:

When trying to type "Ashita no Tenki" (Tomorrow's Weather)
It appears as "Ashittttttano Tenkiiiii" (Ashittttttano Tenkiiiii)

Unihertz's position on this matter is unclear, but we have added a "Disable Auto-Repeat" feature, modeled after the pre-installed IME, Kika-Keyboard.
(Repeat actions caused by holding down a key will be suppressed. Backspace and cursor keys pressed with ctrl+JBNM will repeat.)
Unless you have a specific problem, we recommend using the default setting (off).

■■User Dictionary Import■■
We have experimentally developed a UI for selecting Mozc user dictionary files. Currently, we have confirmed operation with user dictionaries exported from Google Japanese Input/Mozc and user dictionaries distributed for Google Japanese Input. Some distributed user dictionaries are in Shift-JIS format and may not load properly. In such cases, convert them to UTF-8 using a text editor before importing.
We have not confirmed data exported from other IMEs, so we would appreciate your reports of operation.
Since you can import files from Google Drive, it is convenient to use Google Drive.

■■User Dictionary for AquaMozc■■
This app does not include dictionaries for katakana and English words. To compensate for this, user dictionaries are distributed on the following page. Please read the contents carefully and import your user dictionary as necessary.

■■Privacy Policy■■
This app does not transmit input text, app usage statistics, crash reports, Google Play license information, or personal information.

You may open external websites in WebView from within the settings screen.

There are no permissions requests for communication or read/write access to shared storage.

■■Known Issues■■
Incompatibility with the app may cause issues.

Some apps may not support Japanese input from a physical keyboard.

Operation is not supported when an external Bluetooth keyboard is connected.

In Japanese mode, pressing ALT+W will input a "・" (middle dot), but this is not a bug. Converting it will result in a "／" (middle dot).

If you experience frequent crashes during conversion, try System Settings > Apps > AquaMozc for Titan > Storage Settings > Clear Data. (Don't forget to back up your user dictionary.)

While we are willing to fix bugs and add features to the app's unique features, we do not plan to address issues with Mozc itself (such as the conversion engine, dictionary, or virtual keyboard UI).
