Turn your phone into an altimeter! Get elevation even offline.

The most downloaded Altimeter for Android that does not need internet to work!

- Altitude estimation with three different methods to be always sure to get a reliable measure, even without internet connection.
- Historical charts to see your excursions elevation gain.
- Maps with peaks' name and contour lines. Pick elevation from any point on the map.
- Pictures with impressed place name and altitude.

Altitude can be estimated:
- With satellites triangulation. Slow and less accurate but it works even with no internet connection.
- Taking the ground elevation at your current position from a global elevation map.
- Using the pressure sensor of your device (if available). It calibrates itself on pressure from the nearest weather station to improve accuracy.

As additional PRO features you can also:
- compensate systematic error of pressure sensor
- download a larger area of the global elevation map
- record altitude without opening the App
- pick elevation on the map with no limitation
- have no advertising

very nice app. the barometric part doesn't work well in Ireland because the air pressure changes so rapidly -- not the apps fault, of course! The other two readings work very well. my only complaint is that you can't set the size of the altitude text. i would much rather have the ability to shrink the graphic altimeter, which I can't read any way while riding my bike and make the numerical readout of the altitude larger. that said, it is a great app and well worth paying for.

Generally pretty good - I've tested it against known altitudes. I suspect that the GPS location is a bit broad as it can vary a lot on a slope, even when travelling level.

I was looking for a way to take pictures with accurate altitude metadata and this app is able to insert it. Unfortunately, it also watermarks it on the picture, rendering it useless. The developer kindly got back here saying you can remove it in the pro version, so I checked with a hiking buddy who has it and indeed you can remove the APP watermark, but NOT the LOCATION and ALTITUDE :( Hopefully the developer will consider adding this option in a future version!

I want to stop the anoying ads. I would buy it but can NOT figure out what I get in Pro version and the ads for ad blocker is confusing too. I suspect this is a duper creepy app and i will try another. Hope you fix the issues.

The app connected to GPS a couple of times after I had first installed it, but thereafter it has always failed to locate a GPS signal from multiple outdoor locations. Rebooting my phone, stopping the app, clearing the app data has had no effect. The location based altimeter gives a figure, but this information is available online for free. My phone doesn't possess a barametric sensor, do I cannot say if that part of the app works.
