Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition v2.6.6.13
BeamdogAbout this app
Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition solves the problem of lackluster mobile RPG experiences by offering a deep and engaging game world, making it a great fit for fans of classic role-playing games. This app benefits most those who are looking for a challenging and immersive story-driven experience. Compared to alternatives in the Game Role Playing category, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition stands out with its rich storyline, engaging characters, and extensive character customization options. However, it may fall short for users seeking a more action-oriented experience.
Pros
- With over 100,000 downloads and a good user rating of 3.9/5, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition has established a strong reputation among RPG enthusiasts, indicating a well-designed and engaging game.
- The app's paid model without in-app purchases or ads ensures a distraction-free experience, allowing users to focus on the game without interruptions or aggressive monetization tactics.
- Beamdog's reputation as a developer of enhanced editions of classic RPGs lends credibility to the app's quality and faithfulness to the original game, which will appeal to fans of the series and genre.
- The lack of permissions requested by the app suggests a focus on offline gameplay and minimal data collection, enhancing user privacy and security.
- Regular updates, such as version 2.6.6.13, demonstrate the developer's commitment to maintaining and improving the game, ensuring that users receive ongoing support and potential new content.
Cons
- One concern is the relatively high price point of $9.99, which may deter some potential users, especially those unfamiliar with the Icewind Dale series or looking for a free-to-play experience.
- The app's requirement for Android 5.0 may exclude users with older devices, limiting its accessibility to a broader range of users.
- Some users may find the game's depth and complexity overwhelming, particularly if they are new to RPGs or the Icewind Dale series, which could lead to a steeper learning curve.
- The absence of a free trial or demo version means that users must commit to the purchase without being able to test the game first, which could be a barrier for some potential buyers.
Best for: The ideal user for Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is a mature gamer, likely between the ages of 25 and 50, with a background in playing classic RPGs or an interest in deep, story-driven games, who values immersive experiences and is willing to invest time in character development and strategic gameplay.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition users say on Google Play
These Beamdog ports are really nice. Good versions of great old games. I also bought Baldurs 1 and 2, and they are all worth the ten bucks or whatever. Whats not so good? The path finding is sometimes a little weird (the party crashing into doorways or obstacles or each other like the three stooges) and I dont see any way to rotate formations like the pc version did.
Works well. an absolute classic. please add an option to physically move the game to the SD card, if we so chose.
Recent changes to Android has restricted access to the app data folder. So you are not able to use custom portraits, sounds, character files, or even share or backup saves. This was a fun feature, and I'm really sad it can't be used on android. I hear a patch is in the works, but that was hinted at a long time ago, and still there is nothing.
The user interface doesn't work at all on the Galaxy Fold 7 in tablet mode
First time I played it everything was fine, second time the screen is off calibration and cannot be fixed. How do I get refund? Game is unplayable. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked fine the first time I played. I turned off the game and did things IRL and came back to it for the freaking calibration to be off again!! This is nonsense! I have a Moto g stylus 2022
