Agricola All Creatures... v206
Twin Sails InteractiveAbout this app
Agricola All Creatures Big and Small is a digital adaptation of Uwe Rosenberg's award-winning board game, offering a unique livestock breeding experience for two players. This app solves the problem of finding a engaging and strategic board game for couples or friends, benefiting those who enjoy complex gameplay and farm management. Compared to other Game Board category apps, Agricola stands out with its depth and complexity, but may fall short in terms of accessibility for new players. The app's high rating and lack of ads are notable advantages, but the presence of in-app purchases may be a drawback for some users.
Pros
- The app has a high user rating of 3.8/5, indicating a generally positive experience for players, with many praising the game's depth and faithfulness to the original board game.
- With over 10,000 downloads, the app has a notable level of social proof, suggesting that it is a popular and enjoyable experience for many users.
- The app's developer, Twin Sails Interactive, has a reputation for creating high-quality digital board games, which lends credibility to the app's overall quality.
- The app's lack of ads and relatively low price point of $4.49 make it a good value for players who enjoy strategic board games.
- The app's offline capability and lack of permissions requests make it a secure and private experience for players.
Cons
- The app's in-app purchases may be a drawback for some users, as they can potentially create an uneven playing field or encourage spending beyond the initial purchase price.
- The app's complexity and depth may be overwhelming for new players, which could lead to a steep learning curve and potentially deter some users.
- The app's limited player base, with only two-player support, may limit its appeal for users who prefer games with more players or online multiplayer capabilities.
- The app's relatively small download numbers compared to other Game Board category apps may indicate a lack of mainstream appeal or visibility.
Best for: The ideal user for Agricola All Creatures Big and Small is a strategic board game enthusiast, likely between the ages of 18 and 45, who is looking for a complex and engaging game to play with a friend or partner, and has a moderate to high level of technical skill and familiarity with digital board games.

Agricola All Creatures... users say on Google Play
Great game! But why won't you do automated change of sets every second week? We are stuck with same set for about a month already :( Besides, I know it's hard to work on a game that almost doesn't bring money... But there are extremely few players :( You might consider making paid subscription or donations, or anything else. And you could spend it on more advertising, so we would have more players here :) And have to mention, that lots of players leave the game (they told me that), because of the rare rotation of sets. It's boring to play same set, when you've learned the best strategy. Or even worse - when it is extremely biased to benefit first player. More frequent rotation will reduce the players leaving game...
It crashes every time a player try to change the animals into his field. It's really annoying since you have to restart the app and watch the replay every time. Other than that everything seems ok to me!
Someone really, really needs to have another go at the AI for this game. It's one of the worst I've seen. When I'm still at the stage of learning a game where I look back at most moves and say "Darn, I should have done X instead", I shouldn't end up beating the hardest AI opponent by 10 points. I'm giving it a 3 because graphically its quite good, and it runs well. If you're playing online, this could be a good choice (I assume online games are functional, but I never really tried it). But for those looking to play against an AI opponent, consider this a 1-star review
Bad tutorial, poor description of the buildings, takes too long to load an online game and the worst thing is the inability to take back an action before finally deciding to submit it. Bad experience for a mediocre game (small replayability with that many different buildings). Not to mention total lack of support by the company.
Did anyone test this with people who don't own the board game? I have many board games on my phone. I understand how to play games. This game makes no sense. The symbology is tiny and unclear. Building placement is a guessing game. Not intuitive at all. My best game was me placing workers in spaces in order from left to right without concern over what the space actually did. Very very frustrating. If this was meant to be an avenue for people to eventually buy the hard copy of the game it fails.
