If you're invited as a contact, you can also use the Fitbit Ace app to securely call or send messages to a child's Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatch. *Fitbit Ace LTE device requires a paid Ace Pass data plan. Everything worked, and all of a sudden I open the app and see "Your account is not supported. Please sign in with a different account" What is that? You cut me off from being able to connect to my kid like that? Nothing I am trying to do allows me to get back into the app! EDIT: looks like it happens when the phone has no connection. Forcing the app to stop and retrying fixed the issue.

Overall, it's a great app. My son enjoys the games he earns with being active. The communication and location work well. The only negative is trying to complete family quests. We all have Fitbits, but the quests only track the adults through our phones. It misses a lot. Syncing with our Fitbits would be a huge upgrade.

My kids love their watches, but are frustrated with the limitations. Google already has Google Voice, Chat, Messages, etc. there was no need to completely reinvent the wheel for this product. I should be able to use an allowlist to add approved contacts. The watches should be tied to their Google accounts to use Chat and Meet and simply use a Google Voice number to call and text. Forcing contacts to install this app hurts as kids can't connect with their friends.

The app is becoming more annoying by day. We like the watch and the concept. But it's just growing isolated, not working with anything else. For example, they introduced family quest, and to participate we can only use mobile to track steps. It should either use Health Connect or Fitbit account to sync. Not able to use it from the Pixel watch either. Not everyone carries a mobile around like an extended body part 😞

update: still behaves badly 2026. It shows child location on a map but not the user's, unlike Google Maps, which shows both. However, child location updates are often delayed—up to 30 minutes on Fitbit and Google Maps. For a cellular device, this is disappointing, especially during critical moments like bus stop pickups. Additionally, I've received "device off wrist" alerts while the child was wearing it. Does not work outside USA or on WiFi. I regret the purchase, apple watch is superior.
