The FRITZ!App TV is the perfect complement for the FRITZ!Box Cable with TV streaming functionality or a FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C. This app lets you watch all free-to-air channels broadcast on cable television on your Smartphone or Tablet (with Android Version 9.0 or later). The television signal from the cable TV connection is distributed via WiFi or LAN throughout the entire home.

Important: You can only use the FRITZ!App TV if you have a FRITZ!Box Cable with TV streaming functionality enabled or the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C.

After DVB-C or live TV streaming has been configured in the home network and the channel search has been completed on the FRITZ!Box Cable or the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C, start the FRITZ!App TV. The FRITZ!App TV detects the channels found and loads the channel list automatically. This means you can watch TV on your iPhone or iPad immediately, without configuring any other settings.

I am very surprised with this app, it works great installed in my Samsung Tab 2, TV signal is great without lags, I use the powerful Fritzbox Cable 6590 box, maybe that is the reason why the signal gets so strong in my tablet, I will install the app in my Nvidia Shield connected using Lan 1 through a cat 7 cable, will give details later, thank you very much

Die APP tut dass wofür sie primär gedacht ist. Ich kann damit problemlos sowohl Fernsehen als auch Radio hören. Ton gibts jetzt endlich auch bei ausgeschaltetem Display. Der einzige weitere Punkt der zu 5 Sterne fehlt ist eine Timeshift Funktion, also dass man das aktuelle Programm pausieren kann und später fortsetzen. Ansonsten eine gute APP.

Doesn't show HD channels. Can't change audio language. DVB/teletext subtitles won't show up. Channel changes are fast. Would be nice to have Android TV Live Channels support.

It's a good TV app - convenient to use and with integrated TV program. Unfortunately, I can't give it more than two stars because it is impossibly picky about supporting HD senders. None of my android phones and tablets are supported for HD, even though all play HD streams perfectly in VLC. With more and more senders switching to HD-only, FRITZ!App TV is slowly becoming useless for me.

No HDTV? Makes it useless in Switzerland. Also, MPEG-2 stream? Seriously? You should have added a HEVC encoder to the device; Stream bandwidth is huge and unstable.
