Slay the Spire v2.6.0
Humble GamesAbout this app
Slay the Spire solves the problem of monotony in card games by offering a unique blend of deckbuilding and dungeon crawling, benefiting fans of strategic gameplay and roguelike elements. Compared to alternatives in the Game Card category, Slay the Spire stands out with its depth and complexity, but may fall short in terms of accessibility for new players. With a strong developer reputation and frequent updates, Slay the Spire is a solid choice for those seeking a challenging experience. Its offline capability and lack of ads or in-app purchases further enhance its appeal.
Pros
- With over 1 million downloads and a 4.3-star rating, Slay the Spire has demonstrated its quality and appeal to a wide audience, indicating a well-designed and engaging game.
- The absence of ads and in-app purchases ensures an uninterrupted gaming experience, allowing players to focus on strategy and progression without distractions.
- Humble Games' reputation for supporting their titles with regular updates and expansions suggests that Slay the Spire will continue to evolve and improve over time.
- The game's offline capability makes it an excellent choice for commuters or those with limited internet access, providing entertainment without the need for a constant connection.
- The lack of permissions required by the app is a significant advantage, as it ensures that players' data and device security are not compromised for the sake of gameplay.
Cons
- The $9.99 price tag may deter some potential players, especially those who prefer free-to-play models or are uncertain about the game's value proposition.
- New players may find the game's complexity and steep learning curve overwhelming, which could lead to frustration and a negative experience if not addressed through tutorials or guidance.
- The game's performance may vary on lower-end devices due to its graphics and computational requirements, potentially leading to lag or crashes in certain situations.
- Some players may find the roguelike elements, such as permanent death, too punishing, which could limit the game's appeal to a broader audience.
Best for: The ideal user for Slay the Spire is a strategic gamer aged 16 and above, with a background in card games or roguelikes, who is looking for a challenging and immersive experience that requires planning, adaptation, and critical thinking, and is willing to invest time in mastering the game's complex mechanics.

Easily in my top 3 games of all time. the replayability is insanely good. the deck building is extremely well designed. Very challenging but very rewarding. This app used to have an issue with run data loss that made it unplayable. Since then it seems to have been fixed.
This app often freezes, loses my place, or completely loses my run (either when I close inbetween stages or when the app freezes). I really enjoy this game, but the app is very buggy, and my play is often interrupted by the glitches. I give it two stars because I like the game and because it occasionally does work with only minimal glitches. If this app was improved to remove the above errors, I would happily boost this to five stars. Edit: less buggy now
Ok game, bad mobile port. Controls are wonky and no UI size option. All text is super small despite most of the screen being wasted space.
while this is one of the best games ever made, this port to a mobile app is very finicky and made me feel like I have very bad control, and easily make Miss clicks, which are not forgiving in this kind of game
BEWARE THIS APP IS BROKEN! I am on a google pixel 9 pro with the latest software and the game does not save. regardless of when you try saving it, it will always say you need to complete a floor to save progress, even if you are not in a fight. Every time i open the app, it is like I'm opening it for the first time, all the save slots are empty. this makes it impossible to progress in the game. fix it or give me a refund!
