I've been playing this game for months now, and it's paid for itself with the hours of entertainment I've gotten from it. I bought the expansions too, and they were VERY worth it (otherwise, the main story gets boring really quickly). I like the gameplay, as well as the art design, though there is some jankiness when it comes to the UI. You learn workarounds for that, and its not too bad though. The best part of the game is when you realize you are getting better and discover cool combos.

Ugly Casanova

Well ill up from 3 to 4 just because they keep adding a lot of new cards to the base game. Its still tedious, way too many enemies heal themselves right back up, feeling like your just wasting time. And again the expansions cost more than the base game, so im not going to dip in further just to see what they're about. Reward system is very very slow, as are runs. 3 hours to finish my last one because of the healing enemies..

I'm really trying to enjoy this game after reading the good reviews and giving it a shot. This game takes forever to progress though.. Fateshards are extremely difficult to get. I'm currently trying out different classes. The grinding just isn't rewarding, beat bosses, gain 5 fateshards, then you need 45-120 more to unlock a reward. The idea is great, the game is great, the rewards system just needs to be revised.

The main reason this deserves a low rating is because they've managed to turn the game into a struggle session heavily reliant on absurd amounts of luck. The sunforge encapsulates everything that's now devoid of enjoyment and is purely idiotic. Got a good build? 'Well, **** you! Here's everything to "challenge" you, thrown out at the most inopportune times, but specifically tailored to reap your enjoyment!' Game was great at one point. No longer. Waste of time.

this is one of my all time favorite games. that said, i don't agree with the recent direction of game development, numerous mechanics are constantly broken, and the developers respond to feedback in strange and inappropriate ways. i would rate it 4/5 stars, but i think they deserve the 1/5 after the way my most recent feedback was received. also, food/cooking is not a compelling fantasy theme for me
