I tried Migraine Insight and Migraine Buddy side-by-side for a while, and Migraine Insight is by far the better app. The interface is much cleaner. When I'm having a migraine, I can add it quickly with all necessary details (important when I'm in pain). It's also much easier than paper records (my previous method). The optional AI component also is great, and well worth paying for. I learned about some triggers I didn't know about. If you use Migraine Buddy, you can import your data.

Frost Simula

Pretty useful app with easy setup, but needs some UX fixes. For example, triggers like "Heavy computer time" can have the Amount tracked in mg, which makes no sense. For people with desk jobs, there's no way to set a regular amount of computer time, so it has to be entered manually each day. The home screen is way too busy, with far too many options to choose from. Strangely, the very first day I installed the app, I got a migraine. Maybe I jinxed myself? Looking forward to future versions. :)

Migraine Insight started out great. My only complaint initially was that it automatically put treatments or symptoms outside an event, even if I hadn't given it an end time. The app assumes the migraine is gone after 3-4 hours, even if you don't tell it that. Then I found out that it won't let you go back to view previous months unless you pay the $10/mo. or $100/yr. premium plan. If you only want to look at the current month, it's a fine app.

This app was great, now there are issues and no way to contact them for support. It won't create reports, and in the past few days I have run into issues with data not being saved/displayed and some other bug-type issues. I have tried reaching out using every email address they have listed online or in the app, and each time my email is returned because the email addresses do not exist. I'm frustrated with the issues I've encountered, but even more frustrated by the lack of support.

This app has a lot of really great features, super detailed symptom tracking, even in the free version. I loved it, as I was starting a new medical treatment and needed to keep my records as detailed as possible. What the app developers failed to mention is that the previous calendar month's data would be locked behind a $9.99/mo pay wall. So, all the great records I'd been keeping for my medical team are now inaccessible. Bogus.
