I have a Sony Xperia 1V phone, the default Sony recording software is complicated, it has a hard 10 m recording time limit, that can't be changed. I tried this app, the quality is equal, it doesn't have a recording time limit, and it's super easy to use. The only issue is that if the microphone input is set to Android default, then sometimes it thinks a microphone is plugged in, and the recordings will be blank. But if the microphone is set to "Camera", then it always works. I love this app.

Useful for making quick voice notes I can come back to later, and for recording audio observations for iNaturalist when I can't *see* noisy animals. Should work fine for longer recordings too. Basic mono, several bitrate and format options including M4A, MP3 and Ogg. Your audio stays on your phone. No ads, no subscriptions, no remotely-generated transcripts, just basic recording.

It would be great if not for the fact that it switches itself off shortly after my phone is locked (so I can't record while the screen is off) and because of this I have to delete and look for other open source voice recorder. but hey, if they fix that bug I'll happily install it again.

Very good open-source voice recorder. Multiples useful settings, for quality, save location, recording format. But on my Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, Android 13 latest patch, I cannot record my voice using my Bluetooth Headphone. I already tried each Audio Source Settings, restarted the app, nothing works. I'll open a ticket on this issue on the git hub, and updates this comment when I'll have a fix or a workaround.

would be great to record customer service representatives. This app records phone ringing and when they answer. It stops recording. Doesn't record everything. Would be great to not have to have two phones on top of each other to record a phone call. I can't get it to do voice transcribing of recordings. Not able to review what is recorded prior to saving it. Instead you have to save recording then listen to see if it's what you want. What's wrong with doing instant playback like Samsung?
