AlfaOBD software for Fiat Group cars native diagnostic

AlfaOBD software for diagnostics of the vehicles produced by Stellantis (former FCA): Alfa-Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Dodge, RAM, Chrysler, Jeep. Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper are also supported. Although the software is primarily targeted for the car owners, it provides the features of professional scanners. Many dealer-level diagnostic and configuration procedures are available.

NOTE: FCA vehicles since MY2018 have security gateway module (SGW) installed. It blocks the third-party diagnostics. To have full access to the diagnostic features, please use an SGW bypass. Owners of Fiat 500X/JEEP Renegade/Compass (MP), please make sure that the bypass supports the second high-speed CAN bus, the one that is connected to the pins 12&13 of the car OBD plug.

NOTE: If AlfaOBD can not connect to a car ECU with the message "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR" it most probably means your interface is not compatible or defective.

AlfaOBD features include:
- native support of Electronic control units used in Fiat group cars. Native support differs AlfaOBD from many other diagnostic applications providing only limited generic OBDII support of Fiat group cars
- monitoring various dynamic parameters of engine, gearbox, ABS, climate control ECUs and graphical presentation as plots
- reading of static data: ECU identification, system status, fault codes with probable causes and environment information where applicable
- clearing of fault codes

NOTE: If plots are not updated, make sure that "Force GPU rendering" is off in "Settings"->"Developer Option".

Amazing app! Anyone with a supported vehicle who does their own repairs needs this. I spent over a $100 on programming at my dealer and they still failed to activate my tow mirros when I upgraded. I was able to activate this feature in the app myself. It works flawlessly on my 2017 RAM. I did have a few bugs when changing some features on our 2017 Grand Caravan. I sent an email to the developer whom was quick to respond and help me address them. I only wish I knew about this app sooner.

Seems like a good app but it mainly works with a $140 dongle. Also wish the developers could enable an "app reset" option just in case you mess up the app settings and want a fresh app restart. I will update once my dongle gets here

Submitted an issue where my 2023 Dodge Durango with SGW bypass in place not connecting to the BCM back on March 12th. The developer did contact me back saying that he was trying to duplicate the issue and would send me the fixes needed for it. It has been over a month now, and I've sent several emails requesting an update on the issue with absolutely no response back. So there's no way to program any new key fobs or anything else dealing with the BCM. And for that, I'm only rating it 3 stars

Lots of features to use, if you can find them, the interface is not very user friendly. The disclaimer in the section about programming keys could be expanded to indicate regions. I'm just another of MANY who fried their WIN/WCM when adding a key because it tells you to run the ELV reset after, which is not needed in vehicles made for the North American market, and will irreversibly corrupt the ignition module. $50 for the program turned into over $500 in new keys and a module.
