About this app

Doximity - Medical Network solves the problem of connecting healthcare professionals in a convenient and secure manner, benefiting doctors, nurses, and other medical staff who need to collaborate and share information. Compared to alternatives in the Medical category, Doximity stands out with its high user rating and moderate download numbers, indicating a strong reputation and social proof. However, its lack of permissions requests raises questions about its data collection and usage. Overall, Doximity's focus on security and convenience makes it a valuable tool for medical professionals.

  • Doximity's free model with ads allows users to access its features without upfront costs, making it more accessible to a wider range of medical professionals.
  • The app's small size and moderate Android requirement indicate that it is optimized for performance and can run on a variety of devices.

Cons

  • The presence of ads in the app may be distracting or disruptive to some users, potentially impacting their productivity and overall experience.
  • Although Doximity has a high user rating, some users may be concerned about the potential for data collection and usage, given the app's lack of permission requests.
  • The app's limited functionality, focused primarily on connecting healthcare professionals, may not be sufficient for users who require more comprehensive medical tools or features.
  • Doximity's reliance on ads for monetization may lead to a less-than-ideal user experience, with potential for intrusive or irrelevant advertisements.

I have used this app on Pixel phones for about 3 years. my two main values for the app are the ability to make phone calls to patients without using my personal number (you can enter the phone number and display name you prefer, and set up multiple numbers); this is excellent for one's own practice or as someone calling on behalf of potentially several different doctors. also the text message ability, to send a text without revealing your number and receive a response.

Being able to call patients from my cell while displaying office phone numbers is truly a huge benefit.

Despite the endless verifying and reverifying I have done over the last hour the dialer STILL doesn't work, and that was the only useful part of the app.

for Samsung phones, in the dictation part, when you change the note type, the options interfere with the bottom navigation bar. you can't change the note type other than progress note which is bad if I want to change to dictation
