Le Monde, Live News vVARY
Le MondeAbout this app
Le Monde, Live News solves the problem of staying informed about global events and news for English-speaking users, benefiting those who seek in-depth coverage and analysis from a reputable source. Compared to alternatives in the News And Magazines category, Le Monde stands out for its comprehensive coverage and esteemed journalistic reputation, but may fall short in terms of personalization options. With a strong user rating and significant download numbers, it demonstrates a high level of user satisfaction. The app's lack of requested permissions is a notable advantage, indicating a respect for user privacy.
Pros
- The app boasts a high user rating of 4.0 out of 5, indicating a generally positive user experience and a well-designed interface that meets user needs.
- With over 5 million downloads, Le Monde, Live News has achieved significant social proof, suggesting its reliability and trustworthiness as a news source.
- The developer, Le Monde, is a well-established and reputable news organization, lending credibility to the app's content and ensuring users receive high-quality journalism.
- The absence of permission requests is a significant advantage, as it suggests the app is designed with user privacy in mind and does not unnecessarily collect personal data.
- The availability of in-app purchases allows users to customize their experience, such as accessing premium content or subscribing to specific sections of the newspaper.
Cons
- The presence of ads may detract from the user experience, potentially causing interruptions or distractions while reading news articles.
- Some users may find the in-app purchase model aggressive or confusing, particularly if the pricing structure is not clearly communicated or if certain features are unexpectedly behind a paywall.
- The app's content may not be as personalized as some users prefer, potentially leading to a less engaging experience for those who are accustomed to tailored news feeds.
- Device compatibility issues may arise due to the 'Varies with device' Android requirement, which could lead to inconsistent performance across different devices.
Best for: The ideal user for Le Monde, Live News is an English-speaking individual, likely between the ages of 25 and 55, who values in-depth news analysis and has a medium to high level of technical skill, allowing them to navigate the app's features and potentially manage in-app purchases and settings with ease.

Le Monde, Live News users say on Google Play
Don't worry, this app has the French and English versions of Le Monde; you can switch the language in settings. I hesitated to install the new version because the description made it sound like an English-only app, and I read the French version. Fortunately, the new "Le Monde, Live News" app lets you choose your preferred language.
Just first day of use and very much appreciate it.Merci Le Monde
Some articles include pictures. When clicked, a high-res zoomed in version pops up. Unfortunately you cannot scroll and see the complete picture (basically you can only see the central part).
App works well and is nicely designed, but - and it's a big but- almost every article I want to read is behind an €11/month paywall. Very disappointed.
I have no problem with the App itself but in terms of customer service they are very poor. I have been overcharged in my subscription and they are refusing to refund me. Instead they blame Google but Google say it is not their fault. Extremely unhappy. The worst thing is they are not offering any solution they are not communicating with Google. I feel completely powerless
