Capital Bikeshare v2025.51.3.1767166070
Lyft, Inc.About this app
Developer Description
The official bikeshare system for DC, Maryland, and Virginia
CaBi consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. The bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. People use bike share to commute to work, meet friends for dinner, or simply cruise around and see new sights. After signing up, all trips under 30 minutes are free.
The CaBi App lets you purchase rides, unlock a bike, and ride right away. You can also view all station locations, see available bikes and docks, and get walking directions to them to start your ride.
The Capital Bikeshare app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including WMATA Metrorail, Metrobus, and shuttle lines, DC Circulator buses, Fairfax Connector buses, Montgomery RideOn buses, Alexandria DASH buses, Prince George’s County TheBus buses, Arlington Regional Transit buses, VRE trains, and the Silver Line Express.
Within the app, you can purchase the following:
Single Ride
Access Pass
Membership
Happy riding!

Great, reliable app. I particularly like that you can toggle the map between displaying available bikes and available parking spaces. The only deficiency is that the businesses shown on the map are not always accurately located (sometimes being on the wrong block) and the suggested bike routes are not always optimal, so using Google Maps is still necessary.
cost was higher than I expected.
I don't have the ride together option in my app! I'm trying to rent bikes for 2 and have no way to do it (at the kiosk, it gives a 5-digit code, and all ebikes are only accepting 4 digits and giving an error.
I enjoyed using these bikes but was charged $25 for failing to appropriately dock a bike. I did dock the bike but after driving away I got a notification that the bike was not docked and did I want to end my ride? There isn't a great way to provide feedback on these kinds of things either.
Absolutely avoid at all costs. Customer support is non existent. Charged me for a full membership then didn't give me the membership. Charged me for rides that never happened and I'm still unable to get a refund cause there is no one at customer service. If you have to use it, make sure you tie it to a credit card so you can charge back every time they mess up, and they will mess up.
